Alright Rogue one was great, I know it's divided amongst some fans, saying it's still too cheery Disney, not badass enough

Or it's not as good as TFA

To me Rogue one did have many good moments, it certainly filled all the gaps the old fans asked about before

Only few gripes I have..

Well... in Ep 4, 5, 6, we only see Vaders' action when dueling with another Jedi
and... 39 years ago, there's no one capable of doing such fight choreography as today
seeing the light saber duel of modern fight in ep 1, 2, 3 vs classic ep 4, 5, 6, then you'll know why
The impression of Vader in classic SW being slow is not because they intend to film it that way, but because of the constraints they had during those days

Imax 3d get to keep the passive glasses with every movie?

nope, at TGV, you only keep the glasses for 3D-X movies

for IMAX 3D, you'll need to return them

Rogue one should be imax 3d then?
Well I got to keep the glasses, maybe tgv error.

Tried the glasses with my passive 3d TV. Doesn't work

For me, I watched it on IMAX for its sheer huge screen. That's alone for me is well worth it. Many times before I watched movies at IMAX and normal screen, I felt a really downgrade experience to the latter. I can fully appreciate the 3rd acts of this movie at those humongous screen..

Yeah, I don't think its intended for Vader to move slowly in ANH because his foot cut off by Ben Kenobi or whatever. Does Lucas even know when he's making that film that's Anakin will be fighting his master for the first time in the prequel?

ANH was episode IV. It was in place, in the title crawl. (I do think even in the first original screening in 1977.)

George Lucas have the concept in his mind more or less. Perhaps the details were sketchy, but I'm sure he envisioned darth Vader was terribly maimed hence the black protective Armour to keep him alive (even in ANH)

Vader was a good swordman when he is in anakin form. Now he is more mechanical smile.gif. Slow heavy movement. Only the force is still strong with him. The problem with human jedi the older you get the weaker your body is.

Interestingly, this is the only live action Star Wars film where Vader actually uses his light saber like a true bad a**, as well as the force grip. This scene has to be one of the coolest in the history of the films.

In Ep IV, Vader and Obi-Wan were almost just standing around laugh.gif

Indeed the tail end scene alone with Vader and his light saber warrants more than one viewing. This light saber scene also feels amplified/reward due to the complete absence of light saber action in the film.

Save this before its gone:

That scene was epic. rclxm9.gif and so many references to Star Wars Rebels (e.g. Yavin PA calling for General Syndulla)

Must be some ancient great jedi. Jeddha is like Vatican, Jerusalem or Mecca for Jedi.

just the usual from the average rumor mills.

basically people are still speculating who Rey is and why she is having visions of luke/obiwan whereas she hadnt met them before. TFA hangs the mystery of who her parents are and left it at that.

so when RO came out, everyone tries to see how jyn erso fits in episodes 4-7. could she be the love interest of luke? in the old expanded universe, luke fell in love with mara jade, the emperor's ex-assassin, married and had children with her. their children and the Solo siblings made up of the next generation of jedis, which is just about Rey's age.

so people speculate if jyn erso would marry luke (she's probably a few years older than luke) and gives birth to rey. or maybe she married obiwan and got rey.

but since the end of RO is like that, those two theories are clearly dispelled.

according to some interviews, the planet jeddha houses the Temple of the Whills (or Kyber), which is sort of the oldest jedi order in the universe.

the statues were probably of the first jedis (although this statement has yet to become canon).

originally in the drafts, lucas called it The Whills, before later changing it to The Force. so the writers saw it fit to reuse the name someway in RO.

I think I'm the only one who thought Felecity Jones' acting here a bit kayu.... given that she's an academy award nominee, I thought her performance was a bit disappointing
