Well this certainly puts an end to the whole Luke+Jyn=Rey or Obiwan+Jyn=Rey theories.

Oldfags like me enjoyed Rogue more than casual fans.

Nostalgic!

I wouldn't say it is better than TFA, but it bridges Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope beautifully right down to the final last moments! Wow! biggrin.gif

The first part to me felt a bit disjointed, felt almost they were chopped up/re-edited/reshot kinda feel to it, but towards the second half of the war it becomes gloriously Star Wars with emphasis on "WARS!"

The visual cues from the original trilogy really hit home run, just mesmerizing to see how they were able to bring back the old look with a brand new sheen of newness.

The X-Wing sequences felt at times like watching the original films... (I heard they used archive footage for Red/Gold Leader).

Darth Vader's appearances were short (as expected) but powerful enough and worth the wait. James Earl Jones ; you are still doing great with that iconic voice.

The movie seem to lack the emotional bits that I think were more profound in TFA... but in the end, you really felt for all the characters' struggles.

I kept wondering, where were they all in EP IV? laugh.gif

Well, we got the answer. No cutesie BB8-type droid but we get K-2SO which to me, isn't really a 'loved-it-to-bits-i-so-want-the-toy' kinda character. The emphasis here seems to be purely on the story which is a good thing.

And major thumbup.gif with them tackling the one flaw of the Death Star... and turning it into a Rebel-centric Star Wars flick. Nicely done!

Totally worth the ticket admission, and I daresay worth a second watch for the battle sequences.

A solid 8/10 from me.

The music... erm... didn't really stand out for me. Didn't hit any real memorable note in my opinion. M Giachinno rushed the score from what I heard, right after he finished Dr Strange, could be a reason.

Just watched this morning, pretty good and IMHO surely better than the previous one. I just wish Donnie Yen got into more fighting action maybe with Vader but yeah he's just a supporting actor I suppose.

Agreed with most of you here. Characters development is bit lacking here. I'm not sure who I like and rooted more, which actually no one. TFA kiddish it maybe but I like Kylo Ren the most. I don't care if he whimpy whiny brat but he looks cool to me, and he alone warrant enough reason for me to go for multiple viewing. That aside, I think I like Rogue One more than TFA. That last scene alone warrant multiple viewing for me as a big Vader's fan.. biggrin.gif

The worlds in RO are well built, Great scenery and imagination compare with TFA which looks common

watch it 2nd time last night

still enjoying the whole movie throughoutly

especially the final part, still give me shivers when Darth Vader appears in the shadow with his red light saber then start "chopping vege" laugh.gif thumbup.gif
IMO, best scene of whole movie, this is the only scenes in whole 8 episodes showing the brute force and pure carnage of Vader vs the ordinary troops thumbup.gif I don't mind watch that part again & again

anyway... this film will give those SW old fags like me multiple orgasms

a solid 9/10 for me

btw, watched in both IMAX 3D & normal screen, IMO, IMAX only gives a bit of wow factor, not much, don't expect any screen popping 3D effects, just the depth of scenes only. So watching in 2D is good enuf wink.gif

Not a fan of him as a film director in recent years, you still can't touch him as the geek poster child that knows how to talk shit about things. He should get more props for litting all things about comic books and films. Strong language as usual.

😀 Mentioning the iconic Star Wars title crawl

Exactly one of the reasons why Rogue One has no title crawl. I'm seeming some complains why RO is not quite sticking to nostalgic title crawl.

It's suppose to be a filler (side story) to the whole SW saga.
Not suppose to be Star Wars : episode 3.5 😱

Alright Rogue one was great, I know it's divided amongst some fans, saying it's still too cheery Disney, not badass enough

Or it's not as good as TFA

To me Rogue one did have many good moments, it certainly filled all the gaps the old fans asked about before

Only few gripes I have..

Movie is still rated great, just minor gripe details. Nothing major. Plot works fine.

Love those several lines. Classic
