It was a great movie experience. Stay true to the original trilogy. Way better than the prequels but I think I didn't I like it as much as I thought it would be. Gonna reluctantly watch a couple more viewings but I don't think it can beat my viewings for Fury Road (6 viewings without a slight of doubt). The giant spaceball concept feel a bit repetitive though..

Some of the complaints I've read here is justified with some explanation but most of them just some pointless mindless rant. Mostly because how are some Malaysian thinks, without deep understanding of something..

During my first viewing, I didn't like it much as I hope I would be but upon second viewing I started appreciating some of details, visuals and entertainment this movie bring. Yes, without a doubt this movie isn't flawless but I don't think no movies are. All of them have something wrong with it but the positive of this movie outdone the negative ones. I'm loving it the more I'm watching it. Gonna watch it again on Wednesday on D-Box after IMAX and normal viewing previously.

Dude, kylo is supposed to be like a senior Vader or something like that. Granted he got shot but I am sure that he should be better. I mean he did lose to a girl. A girl who only realised her powers within 15 minutes.

It's like u just realize u can play badminton well then u can beat Daren liew in badminton.

The real Darth Vader would be sad.
*
Dude, he's not even finished his training yet. He's not a fully a dark lord just yet. How can you compare them? He is no Vader, just some wannabe one.

QUOTE(Ichighost @ Dec 21 2015, 08:25 PM)
never finished his training with Luke, not yet finish with Snoke..he just an Apprentice..plus he was shot, and I do believe that Rey's capabilities with the force is better than him..she might be a natural..just like Anakin..

while we on this..this is the most interesting turning point for him..he will be much more motivated for episode 8 and 9..
*
True. Also, he just killed his father, probably mentally unstable. Over-confident. Rey also is no mere passerby either. Easily beaten two harasser by himself previously on Jakku. There are a lot of things you can consider before making this one lame statement man..

Watched it again in Atmos D-Box last Friday.

The picture clarity, the Atmos sound, and of course, the D-Box seats makes the price of the ticket worth every cent! Every laser blast from the blaster, every swing of the light-saber, every ship that takes off/arrives; D-Box provides the equivalent feedback! Especially the chase scenes and the first time Poe takes off in that Tie Fighter  sweat.gif  Incredible.

Compared to IMAX 3D, Atmos D-Box gives you a way more enhanced movie experience. More viewing space, as in the subtitles are not obtrusive compared to IMAX 3D's ridiculous 40% of the screen covered in subtitles. You also get pristine quality images, even if you sit closer to the screen compared to the pixelated IMAX.

Second viewing experience of TFA was well worth it. The first time, it was an assault on the senses; visuals, sounds and the anticipation of certain scenes. Now that they are out of the way (well sorta..), second viewing made me notice a lot finer details, the Rey forceback visions, etc. and with the knowledge of the easter eggs, makes it an even more enjoyable experience. And what better way to experience this than in glorious Atmos D-Box.

I've seen two of the (possibly) best film to utilize D-Box thus far; Mad Max Fury Road and this.  thumbup.gif

Demit, all this hype on Atmos D-Box makes me want trigger a trip to KL. Watched it at D-Box GV Bishan, Singapore last week since its the closest D-Box experience I can afford and feeling a little meh. The seat is so far back from the screen I barely see any details although not that I need to see it since its my 3rd viewing. But still its those little things make the viewing more enjoyable. So far, feedback on this Star Wars Atmos D-Box is overwhelming and I almost can't help but to try make an effort to come down to KL only for this.

Watch it again on IMAX 3D last Wednesday at Shaw Theater, Singapore and was in awe. I remember someone said before that no IMAX in South East Asia is the real IMAX but this one is really different from I saw the one JB. Really truly immersive experience. And despite watching it for 4th time plus after reading so many reviews, comments, discussions on the internet regarding positive and negative aspects of the movie I still find it as enjoyable as ever..

In my humble opinion , this guy should do young Han Solo in Rogue One .

He was a little man when he did the impression , eventually he was featured with Harrison Ford in Age of Adaline . Cool coincidence right ?  biggrin.gif

So, just watch this movie for the 6th time (4 times on IMAX, 1 time D-Box and 1 normal viewing). I swear for myself this will be the last time. Mainly watching it just to see Kylo Ren one more time on the big screen. I know its a bit early to say this but I think he just dethroned Vader from the top in my most favorite character list. In general I really likes this movie but now just want to nitpicking it CinemaSins style because there are a few issues that is bugging me throughout all the seating for this movie. Originally there is more but I manage to come up with relevant excuses like why the heck that TIE fighter want to blow up Rey, Finn and BB-8 when Kylo Ren clearly instructed Hux to retrieve the droid unharmed? Maybe because Hux overrule Ren's order with Snoke's (retrieve the droid if can, destroy it if can't). Another one is, where the heck is Rey going after the traumatized experience with Luke's lightsaber? You said you want to leave but why you wander so far off in the forest? Shouldn't you be heading towards Millenium Falcon? The excuse I come up with is maybe Millenium Falcon being parked quite far deep inside that forest.

Below are some lists that I can't seems to come out with any relevant answer to justify the act. Its there just for the sake of it or an excuse to move the story forward..

1) Killing Max von Sydow's character - shouldn't Kylo interrogate him before deciding to execute the guy? Didn't he came to the village with a bunch of trooper to retrieve the information from that guy in the first place? He didn't know Poe will be there right?
2) Why Han Solo so freaking turned on by Chewie's bow-caster? In all those years they spent together he never once tried it? Not once? Really?
3) Why the heck FN-2199 throw away gun and shield and go for electrostaff thingy instead? If you that eager to kill him isn't it the former make a better option? Its not like Finn know how to properly use the lightsaber. He didn't even know its a weapon in the first place.
4) During Han and Ben confrontation, why everyone froze in their place? Why the stromtrooper who clearly present at the time didn't shoot Chewie, Rey or Finn? Only after Han died that everyone else got their sense back and start shooting each other?
5) How the heck Rey and Finn got to the forest from the facility so freaking fast? They're at the top of the facility and its freaking high. I remember the countdown before the big laser shot fired only left 2 minutes or a few seconds . Did they teleport or something?

I think there's probably more but I can looks past them, only this one here that bugs me to death. I'm sure when CinemaSins sinned this movie, one or two points here will come up in their vids. Feel free to give your opinions or excuse for these but if I find it irrelevant I will dispute it. laugh.gif

PS: I love the look on Han's face when chased by the Rathar. Mann, that is one really terrified look right there. Its 'I-don't-care-if-I'm-a-cool-character-or-what-but-I-really-scared-shit' face. Hahha laugh.gif

the beauty of not explaining everything is you are free to come out with your own explanation smile.gif

1. I guess his emotion got the better of him after Max von Sydow kept on bringing up his family in the chat (Kylo: you know what I come for, Max: I know where you came FROM)
2. Maybe its a newer version of bowcaster? But i guess the point they were trying to convey was to demonstrate how powerful the bowcaster is to justify the extent of injury Kylo suffered from later on
3. Its just movie cliche i supposed, all those lets fight on equal footing just to show that i am better than you stuff
4. Agreed, this is a kinda weird part, but the main thing during this sequence was the Han/Ben confrontation leading up to Han's death, so i could let that slide lol
5. I never paid attention to the "countdown" in movies because I knew they won't follow the exact timing any way, in this movie, when the weapon had 10 more minutes to go, Han and Chewie had not even reach the reactor room yet, but after all the confrontation until Rey/Finn escaped to the forest it has 2 minutes left, so there you go
*
1) Okay, make sense. I seems to forgot that he is super temperamental..haha~
2) I kinda understand that. But still I feel its unnecessary because I think how powerful was the bowcaster showed enough already during the battles when Han was using it. Those extra comments from him did provide some comic relief but at the same time to me it felt that he just met Chewie yesterday.
3) Yeah, movie cliche. Good one..LOL
4) I also can let that slide but still bugs me..haha~
5) Yeah, in a way I also kinda lean towards that. Those scene probably not straight fully in sequence with each other but still due to fast pacing of the movie I always end up questioning myself how the hell they end up there so fast..

PS: To those who are super critical of this movie that follow same old same old formula, here is a very good analytical video review on that aspect.

Went to watch CA:CW again at IMAX3D last night, been treated to a Rogue One trailer before hand. Manly tears drop especially at the sight of Star Destroyer, Death Star and the beach scene with AT-AT. It was enormous and translated really well into the IMAX screen. Dang, Dec couldn't come fast enough!

I love it. Definitely a different Star Wars movie than we had before. Dark, gritty and no nonsense bullsh*t. The middle part can feel a bit draggy to some, but not me. I feel the movie is just nicely paced, great acting all around although there's not much character building and action scene is just damn awesome.

But I don't have any favorite for new characters in this movie. None of them give me the feels although I feel like K2SO will be most people favorite. Vader is always been my favorite before and his scene albeit brief, is really great. I can feel his intimidating presence and his last scene is the best yet it any Star Wars movie.
