i'd still vote for blomkamp. his dirty scifi style is down to earth, and sometimes it's so believable that u cant believe such things dont exist (like the weapons in district 9). and his control over the CGI is exceptional. u'll be hardpress to figure out which is CGI and which is real.
this style reminds me a lot of episodes 4, 5 and 6, particularly scenes in tatooine. episodes 1-3 were too clean and shiny it's annoying. even the tatooine scenes were too much CGI. |

in the expanded universe, there was a storyline about emperor's clone. and hey, the entire 1st trilogy is the aftermath of the clone wars. it's not entirely impossible to bring back vader. the technology are there in the story.
but the question is: do we have to? |

QUOTE(+Newbie+ @ Apr 29 2014, 02:01 AM) studio already started. one of the first notable production is marco polo. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marco_Polo_%28TV_series%29 there was a call for extras circulating in UTM in november last year. it didnt mention the title of the production, but it says it's going to be "an international period drama set in the east". needed lots of asian looking extras. yeah, i submitted. tapi takde apa2 call pun... QUOTE(+Newbie+ @ Apr 29 2014, 02:17 AM) I see. Hmmmm ... not looking good ... lol ... i met the the chairman of pinewood nusajaya in 2011. it's a meeting on collaborations with UTM on supplying specialized work force to work on productions. basically the cost of the production in malaysia is cheaper. and if the production included a certain percentage of malaysian, they can get tax deductions. so that's why pinewood was seeking malaysian manpower. back then, he said he's lobbying for the main studio to shoot more films here.Haha, too bad about your application. Maybe face problem? Well if Star Wars does film some scenes here .... i thought, with JB's notorious crime rate, i would love to see hans solo get robbed in the streets! |

Well Han Solo would shoot first so no worries there. will share here if there's anymore casting calls. |

QUOTE(Ichighost @ Apr 30 2014, 04:24 AM) do anything you like JJ please dont bring Jar Jar Binks or Ewoks.. according to this:I hope they dont do it like that..hahahaha with the latest news that SW Clone Wars included in the canon..are we gonna see something from that extended universe in this new SW.. QUOTE The galaxy of Star Wars altered massively last week as Lucasfilm, Disney and Random House made the official announcement that going forward, all novels, comics and multimedia releases would all become a part of a tightly controlled canon, meaning that if it happens in a comic, book or computer game then it happens ‘officially’ in the Star Wars galaxy. Fantastic news for fans of the saga going forward, but what does that mean for the existing books set after the events of Return of the Jedi and filling the gaps up to Episode VII, set 35 years later? Well, those stories are now considered ‘Legends’, meaning that (not that officially they ever were) those stories are NOT canon, and the 30+ years of comics, books and other spin-offs are ‘based on’ Star Wars, but not a part of Star Wars in the sense that the events that happen within them have any bearing on the films or TV shows. basically it implies that anything that occurs after return of the jedi are no longer canon. so no grand admiral thrawn, mara jade, the solo kids and stuff. but anything else that happens before that would probably still be canon (games, tv, novels, comics etc). QUOTE(BeastX @ Dec 18 2015, 09:40 PM) It appears Starkiller base (SKB) is approximately as big as Mars.... A sun in a solar system is approximately hundreds of thousand times more massive than a nearby rocky planets... Example: The Sun is 330k times more massive than Earth (mass to mass). star wars is a fantasy set in space. it doesnt need scientific justifications. i tried that a long time ago...It appears SKB only siphon the outer plasma of it's host sun, enough to dim it temporary..... it does not consume the sun...hence the one base with almost limitless usage...would last millions/billions of years... More troubling would be the firing of the weapon has to go through wormhole/hyper-drive/warp-drive as well...this is because SKB is half a galaxy away from Hosnian Prime, say 50k light-years... for Han/Rei/Finn/Kylo on Takodana to be able to observe the beam(s) and the destruction of the planet...Takodana would have to be on the same solar system, if it's another star system, it'll be too far to see the beams and even if the explosion can be seen it'll take half a year or longer to be seen (star to star distance)... if the weapon traveled at the speed of light, it would take 50k years. SKB at most is a planet destroyer, and not a solar system destroyer. By warping the travel space for the beam, it can be fired anytime (when charged) even without direct line of sight....unlike the 2 previous death stars... ^p.s...... Scientific review, justification... |

QUOTE(ray148 @ Dec 18 2015, 10:47 PM) The movie is alot of fun and full of energy. Love Finn and Rey. the end of battle of endor basically only saw the end of the emperor rule. and as we all know, the empire was vast. 1st order probably only one of the many splinter factions spawned after the death of the empire.Problem was the story and no sense of continuity from previous movie. I mean the whole galaxy was celebrating in Eps VI, how in the hell everything goes to shit now? |

QUOTE(HITMAN316 @ Dec 19 2015, 12:34 AM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The film makers cannot rely on nostalgia alone. For the sequel, they have to come out with something original, something new. The score: 7.5/10 from me, the feel of seeing the return of the characters we knew contributes a lot. If you want to have a better experience, watch the original trilogy first before watching The Force Awakens. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

Well this certainly puts an end to the whole Luke+Jyn=Rey or Obiwan+Jyn=Rey theories.

QUOTE(ReAcTiVo @ Dec 22 2016, 01:36 PM) just the usual from the average rumor mills.basically people are still speculating who Rey is and why she is having visions of luke/obiwan whereas she hadnt met them before. TFA hangs the mystery of who her parents are and left it at that. so when RO came out, everyone tries to see how jyn erso fits in episodes 4-7. could she be the love interest of luke? in the old expanded universe, luke fell in love with mara jade, the emperor's ex-assassin, married and had children with her. their children and the Solo siblings made up of the next generation of jedis, which is just about Rey's age. so people speculate if jyn erso would marry luke (she's probably a few years older than luke) and gives birth to rey. or maybe she married obiwan and got rey. but since the end of RO is like that, those two theories are clearly dispelled. |

QUOTE(ReAcTiVo @ Dec 22 2016, 01:35 PM) according to some interviews, the planet jeddha houses the Temple of the Whills (or Kyber), which is sort of the oldest jedi order in the universe. the statues were probably of the first jedis (although this statement has yet to become canon). originally in the drafts, lucas called it The Whills, before later changing it to The Force. so the writers saw it fit to reuse the name someway in RO. |
