sad story about LAsso...he's been sneezing since last two days..yesterday brought him to UPM hospital but they are not familiar with the hedgehog but only give an X-ray and antibiotic....X-ray is made bcoz lasso's nose 'bengkak' and sadly the Dr said it is maybe cancer (tumor) from the X-ray result...i'm sooo sad..got blodd inside his mouth also.

Huh? got cancer? Maybe if you don't mind paying a bit more can take to other place? Need to ask other forumers which is reputable... Hope is just normal illness.

Just sharing my past experience with UPM..
Two of my dogs sent there to get medical help died (Poisoned by my maid)... Don't know the doctors qualified or not. When he was nursed by my grandma, he was getting better, started eating a bit already, just to be sure took him there. Not sure what they did, they say must stay there for further check up.. 2 hours later they called, say die already...!!

My grandmother was so sad.. keep saying they took so much blood, the dog was so afraid, wants to go home...

Oh dear... This make me starts to worry about Ren.

Saw 4 hedgehogs at PW in MV.. one S&P, two Cinnamon and one Albino.. The Albino very very tiny.. 1/3 or adult palm only.. Why they sell underaged le?? Haih..

btw.. i bought Echy a wheel... he never bother using it at all.. but instead he just run around the cage everynight for whole night long... =.= n hor... he doesnt sleep in the hide-out house i bought for him anymore.. but sleep outside curled up...

I wanna change his name from Echy to "Xiao Sha Gua"... yet so cute~ especially when he plays with toilet roll... give him house.. he dun wan... give him exercise wheel.. he dun wan.. give him toilet roll.. he tries to squeeze inside.. his playing with the exercise ball i got for him now.. running around the house knocking everything.

mine also like that... thats y i gave him 1 tissue roll and small ball with bell inside.

The wheel... take times as its still new to him. When he found out how to play then u have new job to do : clean the wheel every morning

Haha.. RM 488? That's not reasonable, I thought the most it'll fetch in petshop is only 380.. I rather get myself a puppy.

I mean how you manage your pets? Like you got so many gerbils? Keeping them male-male, female-female? That's 2 tanks, hedgehog = +1 tank. Fat-tailed gerbil = + 1 tank. And SG.. 1 giant cage?

How you clean their habitat? Especially the SG cage... lolx. You're great.

hi...thanks for everyone that concern about lasso..
tomorrow i got second appointment with Dr S Vellayan..
he is last time zoo dr..
last two days brought lasso meet him and he give lasso two injection..
one is to stop the blood and one is to make lasso hungry..
but still lasso dont eat like before..he only ate 1-2 kibbles per day..
so now i'm just give lasso glukoce to give him energy and a littlle babyfood since lasson dont like fruits or vege

Most important is why you want it? There are many pets out there, is important to find one that really suit you and your wife's lifestyle.
Hedgehogs are easy to care for in terms of diet (readily available), habitat (no special equipments like heater, lightning, etc), easy to maintain, if you follow some basic guidelines posted in page 1.

You can feed them quality cat food or dog food. Insects (mealworms / crickets) occasionally
They are nocturnal, so is not a good idea to place them under direct sunlight. Provide them something to hide and sleep in.
Care for them... This depends on how commited are you lo. Some petshops just put them aside, feed them and clean their habitat only until the smell is overwhelming also consider as basic care... But if this is what you plan to do then better don't lo. Cause later they get sick, infested with mites, then you and hedgehog also susah.

You should read basic care sheet at sheet 1. Anything more specific you are not sure of, don't hesitate to post here. = ) good luck
