Most important is why you want it? There are many pets out there, is important to find one that really suit you and your wife's lifestyle.
Hedgehogs are easy to care for in terms of diet (readily available), habitat (no special equipments like heater, lightning, etc), easy to maintain, if you follow some basic guidelines posted in page 1.

You can feed them quality cat food or dog food. Insects (mealworms / crickets) occasionally
They are nocturnal, so is not a good idea to place them under direct sunlight. Provide them something to hide and sleep in.
Care for them... This depends on how commited are you lo. Some petshops just put them aside, feed them and clean their habitat only until the smell is overwhelming also consider as basic care... But if this is what you plan to do then better don't lo. Cause later they get sick, infested with mites, then you and hedgehog also susah.

You should read basic care sheet at sheet 1. Anything more specific you are not sure of, don't hesitate to post here. = ) good luck

I have two 2 feet tanks [gerbils], two 1.5feet tanks [gerbil], a zoozone 2 [hedgehog], a 150litres toyogo box [duprasi] and a luxury cage [sugar gliders].. hehe

U sound like a pro now.. guess hedgehog makes us research more n more ya?

hi...thanks for everyone that concern about lasso..
tomorrow i got second appointment with Dr S Vellayan..
he is last time zoo dr..
last two days brought lasso meet him and he give lasso two injection..
one is to stop the blood and one is to make lasso hungry..
but still lasso dont eat like before..he only ate 1-2 kibbles per day..
so now i'm just give lasso glukoce to give him energy and a littlle babyfood since lasson dont like fruits or vege

Not really pro la compare to you... haha.. Still learning alot.. But I kept many pets before. Everything also different one. Now planing want keep one glider.. But scare can't cope with it.. Cause I really can't imagine how you can drag a 1 meter tall cage into the bath room to clean it... Lolx.. Somemore price expensive.. Initially perfer to keep one.. But read from Hun's post saying that 1 at a time easy to bond, but they'll do better with a mate... 

To me hedgehog more cute than glider, but can't take it walk walk ma...

Mizu is using fleece as her bed and she goes to her toilet to poo and pee. It's not too hard to toilet train and I find it very very easy to clean the tank when they're trained.

You can try Ikea, they sell cheap fleece blankets there. I cut it up in fours and use it for Mizu. Don't need to sew it as the threads dont come loose easily.
