you can still give the pet milk from the petshop if you want. or you can just skip it provided you give kitten food.

if you want to give milk, maybe you can give one time a day, only when you are at home. don't leave the milk bowl all day long, milk spoil easily. you might not want your kitten to get "cirit birit" eheheh

check the stool, if he/she has his soft or watery stool, stop that milk.

after stop milk for few days, check the stool, make sure it is hard now. if that kitten stool still watery or soft with and without milk, then bring to vet, you might need to deworm and check on that.

its very hard to tell cats age. unless it is kitten. maybe vet can tell your cat age. some use the cat teeth to estimate age.

if i were you i wont feed fish to a cat. fish does not contain much nutrition for cats. that is the reason why all premium food use chicken, some using meat.

Oren and hitam stay together right. Hitam do not eat royal canin and eagle pack? if hitam is eating this, you can just stop giving fish, and just let hitam eat this premium food.

else you might want to get IAMS for senior cat. I think SP also got senior cat food.

Yup, yup, 10kg for Oren alone can last ages!

Ohh, IAMS got a new range in town. It's called IAMS Healthy Naturals with Vitamins and Minerals. Got whole Chicken it claims, but I can still see chicken by-products as well. However they do add fruits and veggie as well like those in Orijen and Eagle Pack. I dunno if the price is the same as prev IAMS, but looks pricey jugak... RM21.00 for 1.8 pounds which is 816 grams only... Tak sampai 1 kilo...

Orijen, 2.5kg = RM50.00, so 500gm is RM10.00

Eagle Pack Holistic, 1.5kg = RM35.00, so 500gm is RM11.70

New IAMS Healthy Naturals, 816gm = RM21.00, so 500gm is RM12.85

Wahhh liou, how come the New IAMS lagi mahal?? While it still contains by product, corn meal and wheat...

Yeah. But its far from my area la. And all the items is soooooo cheap. Like the flea comb only 6.80 compare to other pet shop that cost RM12.00.

Maybe because it is still new in the market. I bet the new one at the moment competing the price tag since the cat food price increase worldwide.

or maybe the small packs are all expensive. It might be cheaper if they have bigger packs like 2kg or 3kg.

I'm not sure if people will get that new IAMS thought, maybe not. Since you mention Eagle Pack Holistic is still cheaper.

Although if IAMS drop down that price in malaysia, i think i will go for Eagle Pack Holistic, since their nutrient % is higher than that Iams Healthy Naturals.

Heard most of my friends that multi-cats in their household is now changing to product such as blackwood, proformance, and iams. since after RC increase their price like to the max.

Proformance and IAMS do increase their price by rm10-15. And proformance making big mess like not going to do packing of 10kg to malaysia... yaikssss have to buy 5kg packs times xx amount.

Asked a vet about his age, he also can't say. Even asked him to give a guess, he dun dare to do so (he looked like a young doc, thats why not so good ). His teeth is still white (no yellow stain yet) and averagely big.

Hitam has stopped eating dry food at the age of 4. Since then we've been buying canned or wet food. If out of stock then we made our cat food. If we feed her dry food, she'll rather starve. Even some other wet food like chicken flavor (iams and eagle pack), she'll just sniff and run away. Membazir! My 9 yr old cat died under her care too. I don't want her sis to die too

Sigh, I wish I could stop Hitam from eating fried fish, El, but my maid's the one who feed the cats. I've been scolding her to stop feeding those stuff cos its bad, but she would justify it by saying Hitam prefers the 'bad food'. Argh! I think I've an idea what to do. Maybe I get few big canned food and categorize it bag by bag. That way its better than oily fried fish isn't it?

I'm no longer staying in my parents house since I started university, now working already. I would go back home once every 2 weeks, min once a month. My mom would monitor the cat's progress, but she's working too and only have time at night.

Is it okay to leave cats un-caged in an apartment and leave the balcony door open for litter? Maybe I can install a net on the balcony rail.

Hmm...I might consider bringing Oren (haha, same name like KP's cat) with me as a trial. How long should the trial be, El? Or should I try Hitam.

you can only bring one cat with you? kan best kalau bawa dua dua kesian juga si hitam, di tinggal kan. if i were you, i rather not to take both. sebab mesti kecil hati si hitam dan sedih if oren pindah. sometimes, silent does not mean they hate the other cat.


if you want to open the door, better to have net at your balcony, else someone will make free jump eheheh.. yep you can put the litter box outside the house - better place as long as not too many poop until your neighbor complaint ehehehe.


some cat might not like to be move from one place to another place for many times. it make them feel stress. cat very easy to get used to a new place if there's other cat with him/her. like bring oren and hitam together for the trial.

if you have a cats that has been living together for so long, and suddenly you separate them, at your new place you will hear him meowing looking for accompany, scare, and stress.

My cats has their own room. if they play outside the room, i have to bring more than 2 cats. if i only bring 1 cat, that cat will meowing so loud calling for the other cats. they want to be together. they get freak out if the environment change to only 1 cat house.

Just called my mom asking how's the cats are doing. Guess what, my mom just saw Oren trying to 'kiss' Hitam. I'm not sure whether its just him sniffing, but knowing Oren, I think he's just trying to be manja with anyone around him, including Hitam. She hissed a bit, but she's okay after that. That's a good progress actually Yay!

Hitam hates dry food, plus her teeth is not that strong anymore so I only have wet food as last resort. In addition, she'll get bored eating the same flavor for more than 3 days. No chicken, all must tuna or mackerel flavor. Ocean fish flavor ketul2 pun she dun like. I always go back home with treats like Fancy Feast and she loves it esp extra virgin tuna (arghhh, pokai if buy for her everyday! ) Would be nice if I can buy various wet food flavors in bulk like Royal Canin.

Any recipe to 'spice up' normal ikan rebus for cat? Hitam keeps vomiting when eating this. Salt's not good for cats right? Nak taruk ape lagi ar to make it taste interesting?

I didn't really see any big packs for the IAMS Healthy Natural... Mebbe I missed it. If I go out today, I'll scout out cat food prices and list it here

Given time and proper training, should be okay cuz my Oren stays indoor and fully free roam in my apartment. His litter tray is on my back balcony. The doors are always slightly open. I put those PVC mesh at my balcony for safety

However, if your Oren and Hitam are used to free roam outdoors, could be a little tough to confine them in the apartment.



Haha, that's normal for cats to show affection. Sniffing closely and later you will see them groom and lick each other

brand = any premium or super premium cat food are good. choose which suit your budget (all this food can only be found in petshop)

in term of ingredients and nutrition = dry food (it contain lots of other good ingredients not only meat/chicken, beside its very convenient and easy)

wet food also good, but it contain very less nutrition, unless u go for Science Plan wet food which is very expensive.

fresh food also good, but still lake of other nutrition. feeding boil chicken or meat alone won't bring much vitamins, protein and etc. to have all this, you need to make your own recipes to get better fresh food. very troublesome. if you have the time to prepare all this, why not

wet food will make your cat mouth smelly and yellowish teeth. you need to clean their teeth frequently.

you can give dry food daily, and wet food or fresh food twice a week. still consider good i will just make wet food or fresh food for treats

I bought a few SP's prescription canned food before, but I don't think Hitam might enjoy it cos its very much blended, with no chunks of tuna. And here's the funny part, I've been browsing through a lot of canned food for senior cat and most of them are chicken flavor, no fishy flavor.

Iams, Eagle Pack and SP, all of them are either chicken or turkey flavor. Aiseh. Time to use syringe on Hitam, hahaha! She's so darn picky!

like i told you before, fish is not a good source for cats. that's why they used chicken or meat = hence the food become expensive.

very hard to see premium and super premium cat food using fishes. Iams do have products with tuna and salmon - but if you read the ingredients, the first two are chicken .

and by nature, cats don't go fishing. they are not bear who go to the river and catch fishes by using that big paws. cats hunt for meat or other land animal just like tiger hunting for rabbit and etc.

i understand how hard it is to have a very picky cat. my SKY (the pirate cat) is very picky before, but he's not picky anymore now. thank god!

maybe you can try to mix the boil fish with boil chicken.. and slowly decrease fish. as for boiling, not over boil it. especially chicken and meat, just make it half cook, leave some juice. if you feed boil chicken, give the chicken soup as extra taste - its very good for cats. don't add any seasoning, abit of salt is ok.

how about boiling the fish together with the chicken? will it work?
