PC Gamer US December 2010 has a preview on Diablo 3.
"Can breakdown armor and weapons to raw materials to create / make other items." Interesting. |

QUOTE(talexeh @ Nov 27 2010, 08:01 PM) You might lose the bet. Many people were talking about the downfall of StarCraft II when it was announced that it has no LAN capability but as you can see, StarCraft II sold like hotcakes. SC2 sold well because of the name (Blizzard + StarCraft) as well as it being well polished. I still think the game as it stands is vastly overrated compared to SC:BW though.D3 will sell well no matter what they do to it. But I'd prefer that they don't bother with DRM at all rather than strip LAN to deter piracy. Didn't WC3 and SC:BW and Diablo 2 sell millions despite being overly easy to crack back then (and has no DRM now)? @kianweic: that item scrap part feature was already present in that crappy game called hellgate london, it ain't new. |

Yup, I gotta agree that both games you mentioned there were hot cakes but in Kotick's eyes, selling well don't cut it anymore since he can (and he SHOULD) earn more from those who actually pirated the games & enjoyed the same privilege as an original copy owner. You did read about how StarCraft 2 actually placed in the very first ranking for the most downloaded torrents? Yes, Kotick was laughing his ass off when he read about it. |

LAN is overrated.
making a LAN game is basically open the possibility for your game to be gayrena-ized and make them open to hackers. one of those sad case Im talking about is borderlands, where the hackers/pirates made their way into official servers and overcrowded them til its laggy like shit.(not to mention it was gayrena-ized) but I like borderlands for the fact that it can do LAN, so much fun playing with housemates just sad that it opens so much possibility to hackers and pirates to the point that it may hurt the developers and the future of the game |

QUOTE(temptation1314 @ Nov 29 2010, 11:06 AM) looks like GW style. LOL Don't you think this is the biggest problem we have in Malaysia right now?Added on November 29, 2010, 11:10 am You should learn how to find a good server to host for your games. We've been playing for years and versus for this few weeks. No lags or whatever, only for each to their own connections problems. If you live in KL, the Internet connection quality is still acceptable. If you are like me living in Seberang Perai, home town in Kedah, then I can guarantee that you won't be able to play even a single session on battlenet. Blizzard is taking a bad move trying to force the "No LAN to curb piracy" talk down their customers throat when they are just trying to promote Battlenet and maybe charge a monthly subscription fee to use in the future just like what Microsoft is doing on the Xbox. Also, why do I have to learn to look for servers to host my game when I'm playing with my friends and brothers in the same house? A single copy pirated does not equal to a single sale lost and pirates will keep pirate with or without LAN as long as the single player is still playable, that is the fact. Why I know? Because I played a pirated copy Diablo 2 for years without even playing multiplayer. I too torrent games to try it before I make a purchase. |

LAN is great for LAN parties, and when you're living with gaming house mates during your University days.
But as you grow older, having a 9am to 6pm job, having a gf/wife, having your own home, then LAN is really not a factor at all. |

LOL, bad move?
Look at the world map, dot your Penang state, then see how big dot is that. Compared to the whole world, why Blizzard have to comply with such a small community as us? Even if we are to beg and write a letter for them, it won't change the fact that majority of the world have no problem with the game having no LAN's feature. Count Singapore in, they won't even care. If you still face connection problem, get MCMC to get this solved. |

LAN is just a tiny community comparing to the bnet which u can find anyone, anytime, from anywhere in the world to play with u. not just 3 or 4 of your college friends. bad connection or dc issue? blame it on Msia government, blame it on TMnet, blame it on your ISP, blame it on where your are staying; but not blizzard, they do not contribute in making the game laggy. |
