Of course not. If can then early early also got people try and make it a new breed already. Plus the babies or the babies sired by that batch of babies will be sterile. No point.

robo and RC ar.. hmmm... i dun think can cross breed lar.. one is so big, one so small.. if got also, will produce cacat pups or the babies die in womb.. the fella lie 1 maybe?

imagine if pair a female robo + male RC, i dun think the RC is able to chase her all around the cage, cos robos run so so fast.. also robos are hard to breed, they're very very choosy of their mates.. even if breed, the babies will die in the mother's womb, and the mother may die too, cos the babies are so BIG..

if it's a male robo + female RC, alamak! i think he'll do worse than Nezu's boyboy.. the male is half the female's size..

It's been about 3 weeks that I brought him home. I think he was one month plus when I brough him back. Since I bought him when we all one gang went hammie hunting, Hun mentioned that Ferro was male. But she like not sure like that. Cuz his underparts were very furry.

One weeks later Nezu delivered smoothie to my place and help me check his sex. She say he is female. Cuz "he got no ball ball" as she put it.

Then she say MAYBE his testicles will show after he gain some weight. So Ferro remained an unsure gender till today. Sometimes I dunno wanna refer to Ferro as he or she. Me myself also confuse dy.

Then today my sister handle Ferro and Roche. Then at eye level, I saw his testicles. Not big at all since it's not noticeable unless I look at eye level. Then can see 2 "bump" which Roche didn't have.

So I completed my dream and have 1 male and 1 female syrian. But I have no intentions of breeding them. Just for the experience.

So don't have to look for hamsters anymore after this. Syrian experience complete.

Where got sell alot of roborowsky hamster ? i want alot of choices one as in the shop has lot of stock so i can choose really cute one...btw, what u guys think if i plan to only get 1 roborowsky and not a pair cz i wanna put in my room and if 2 then my room will be smelly...and if i buy a square aquarium to rare them will it be too cruel ? i have cages but its almost the size of the square aquarium i wanna buy cz the size of my room is limited and i dont want my mom to nag me to put the hamster in my room...wat u guys think...

get at least 2 robos.. since robos are social hamsters, they prefer to stay in pairs or groups (sngle sex i mean).. and don't worry about the pee being smelly.. robos pee very little.. cos they drink little.. the Pet Shop in Sunway has taken in new stock of hamsters, there are robos too.. if u want an aquarium/guppy tank, get at least 1.5ft and above.. it wont be cruel, it's the best housing for hamsters..

I suggest you look for breeders. Though you can choose many robos in certain shops, but is that really what you want? From my experience of buying robos from petshops, the robos are almost always NOT TAME, with the exception of 2. And I bought many robos before. I use to study and breed them till a few months ago when the last of them passed away. I didn't wanna shrink the gene pool. Unless you just want to look at them and never touch them.

I suggest you get a pair. I had a couple of hamsters who actually refused to eat and was very frightened all the time when their tank mates died. Since they're the smallest of the dwarf hamsters, I think adding one more won't hurt.

How small is small? I hope not smaller than 1ft cuz I think that's the VERY minimum. All my robos had at least 1.5ft tanks to themselves (a pair). I think a square aquarium will be ok as long as you provide them an adequate hide house and wheel. They do need to exercise and if you really don't have a choice, go ahead. But a bigger space is better cuz robos love to run and explore, reshape the landscape. They still fare well i small cages due to their size and if you feed them well but they'll be happier in a larger cage.

I am pleased to say that robos do not smell, almost scentless. Their shavings need not be changed often, depending on the size of their enclosure. My 1.5ft tanks don't smell after 3 weeks. It still smells like clean bedding.

Just a tip. Robos simply love bathing sand. I've seen all of mine roll in it and they won't groom themselves anywhere else. Hope it helps.

i use veseline:), like mite say, any comsumable oil or baby oil will do. but not cooking oil ah. cooking wil become sticky after sometime.

finally hahha.. i am sure with ur good food he grow up now

normal a well feed hammi can see in early age, but sometime when we get from pet shop they r not so well feed since baby(from breeder to the shop), then they may not develop so soon.

after we bring them home with good intake. they will grow and will show.

Im new here and probably have a few noob question on hamster. Hope you guys can clear my doubts.

Q1. Is Syrian hamster the chubbiest, fattest looking hamster among the 5 species? If not which species is that?

Q2. Correct me if im wrong, i read on the 1st page stating 2 Syrian hamster shall not be placed in the same cage. But i was wondering how come those petshop able to place groups of the same species under the same cage?

Q3. How much lifespan is an average Hamster? Or they varies between species?

Q4. I still have doubts placing a SINGLE Syrian hamster in a cage will not bored it to death. I always thought the more the merrier.
