Hi Guys,
Im new here and probably have a few noob question on hamster. Hope you guys can clear my doubts.
Q1. Is Syrian hamster the chubbiest, fattest looking hamster among the 5 species? If not which species is that?
Q2. Correct me if im wrong, i read on the 1st page stating 2 Syrian hamster shall not be placed in the same cage. But i was wondering how come those petshop able to place groups of the same species under the same cage?
Q3. How much lifespan is an average Hamster? Or they varies between species?
Q4. I still have doubts placing a SINGLE Syrian hamster in a cage will not bored it to death. I always thought the more the merrier.

Hi Guys, Im going to get a Syrian hamster next week. Probably 19th or 20th. I saw theres a promotion going on at Pet Family with buy 1 Syrian free 1 Syrian at RM25. However i dont have the space to accommodate 2 as we require 2 tanks for each of them. Is there anyone interested to share the other 1? Of coz you need to pay RM12 for that  |

Hi Guys, Just bought a syrian hamster today. Some question thats running in my mind. Q1. How much do you put for bedding? I used almost half of Breeder Celect Cat Litter 6L (Thats RM11 gone) Q2. I am using hamster toilet sand plus some of his poo inside the left bowl. Unfortunately he push the sand and make his bed inside the toilet  Any idea how to make him sleep inside the living world house instead of the toilet? Q3. Sometimes he dig hole and pushes away his bedding. Is this a norm, as he did it to his food too. Q4. Throw 1 small mealworm inside the bowl but didnt eat it. Q5. Help needed.
My hamster dig most of the toilet sand out from his toilet. And now those sand have scattered around the bedding. Now he choose to sleep behind the wheel rather than the house or toilet.
Q1. Do i need to change the toilet sand? As it is just 3 days.
Q2. Do i need to put back the toilet sand which is now scattered on the bedding back to the toilet?
Q3. Any tips to make him not to dig the sand out?
Q4. Any tips to make him sleep only in the house? (previously try to put tissue but didnt work)
Pls advice

Im using the below setup Woodent wheel Living world house 1 ceramic bowl for food 1 ceramic bowl for toilet with toilet sand The reason why i wanted the hamster to stay in the house is becoz i pay so much for his house but he pulak go and sleep other place  Anywhere he is still not eating the worms and got scared with it and hiding in his house now. (dunno good or bad) Smoothies also not touch liao. If didnt feed him with worms, any chances for him to grow BIG and chubby? |

Yes i feed with smoothies and prestige and vege. But he didnt touch not even 1 worms yet. I only feed 1 worms per day but getting him to eat even 1 is hard.
Btw how do i open woodent wheel for cleaning?
