Do you guys think that the trend for 24" is going 16:9 rather than 16:10?

It seems that more and more company are producing 16:9

I read the comments from Hard Forum, a lot is good comments but from CNET is bad comment lol. I own the DELL s2409, so far so good but now my graphic card spoilt so can't test more in it. Anyway 2 also is the TN panel, just the Gateway have more input component and USB compare s2409.

High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  (Redirected from HDCP)
Jump to: navigation, search

High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) is a form of digital copy protection developed by Intel Corporation to prevent copying of digital audio and video content as it travels across DisplayPort, Digital Visual Interface (DVI), High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI), Gigabit Video Interface (GVIF), or Unified Display Interface (UDI) connections, even if such copying would be permitted by fair use laws. The specification is proprietary, and implementing HDCP requires a license.[1]

For DVI interfaces, HDCP is optional.[2][3]

HDCP is licensed by Digital Content Protection, LLC[4], a subsidiary of Intel. In addition to an annual fee, licensed adopters agree to the conditions set forth in the HDCP License Agreement.[5] For example, high-definition digital video sources must not transmit protected content to non-HDCP-compliant receivers. Additionally, DVD-Audio content is restricted to CD-audio quality or less[6] on non-HDCP-digital audio outputs (analog audio outputs have no quality limits). Licensed adopters cannot allow their devices to make copies of content, and must design their products in ways that "effectively frustrate attempts to defeat the content protection requirements."[7] The technology sometimes causes handshaking problems, especially with older high-definition displays.

Can use a software on your pc to bypass HDCP, i forgot the name though but the software removes optical disc copy right protection for movies. So even if your monitor does not have HDCP, it is possible to view a HDCP movie without being restricted.

To my knowledge only the PS3 is using HDCP full time now. I don't buy original movies... often.... so i have never had to test HDCP.

My HP Lp2475W works with PS3 so that means it support HDCP. I tested using HDMI to HDMI of course.

The thing i don't like about HDCP is not only about being restricted, it's the fact that DRM, HDCP and all these copyright technologies in fact slow down our pcs and take up resources at the consumers expense, and Microsoft supports these big corporates by adding these restrictive technologies to their software.
