QUOTE(zzzz52 @ Sep 16 2008, 12:02 AM) Just don't know if the better panel will be that noticeable to me cause i'm just using it for normal daily usage, gaming, movies, work. So just considering what is the best option to spend a budget of 2k+ on the lcd monitor. For that money, you have a few options ,especially for 24" or 32" LCD tv If you want to know the difference, just do a research around and visit site like tftcentral or [H]ardForum Also, you should go to the shop and see it for yourself. People have different tolerance towards the color, viewing angle and input lag so you might want to check it out on some shop for different kind of model, although most of the shop only have TNs. The Samsung 245b/ T240 are good value LCD IMHO |

zzzz52 - I personally did not see any glow. Then again i do not have that background image to check. Personally i don't think this is much of an issue since you need to be watching from an angle to begin with, which is unlikely. My computer table is very small and i have no room to watch from an angle if i wanted to.
EngSeng - I don't think so. The image just shows one monitor with no glow and the other with glow at an angle. The NEC although is 2 years old, has an AT-TW polarizer which removes this white glow effect at an angle, and also improves contrast. The HP although a newer H-IPS, lacks the AT-TW polarizer. All lcd monitors have a polarizer, but the one that removes the glow is called an AT-TW. This is to be expected because the NEC is geared toward a higher end segment which is why it has very good features like AT-TW polarizer, a 12bit internal lut, and very good OSD and color calibration. The HP on the other hand is probably the best cheap for performance H-IPS currently. I think omitting the AT-TW and the internal lut isn't too big a loss considering the price tag which was reduced to make it more affordable for the masses. Maybe eventually such very high end features like the NEC will be available in 1-2 years time. We will just have to wait and see |

QUOTE(Onion-KiD @ Sep 16 2008, 06:29 PM) Not my NEC lah, someone else posted.Well it depends. I don't think there is a simpler answer that the NEC wins over all. Maybe for a graphics designer it does, but as a gamer i prefer the more improved less input lag monitor with newer inputs. So hard to get in touch with a NEC rep to buy from Malaysia. Also it wasn't shown on the malaysian website so i went for the HP which is cheaper newer and readily available But yeah if the angle view where you see a glow bothers you, then yeah the NEC would be better in that area. But personally i only watch head on nor have i noticed any of this glow until some other owner posted that comparison. This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Sep 16 2008, 07:52 PM |

I got a wierd problem from my LG W2252TQ.
In normal display at wording or gaming or surfing the net, my LCD did not seems to have dead pixel. But if i watch a movie with any movie player, a dead pixel will come out on the middle up right position. Since it is close to the vision concentration area, it is quite annoying also. Got any1 meet this problem? Any way to overcome this problem? |

That's why I imported it from the states yrs ago, and the total costs is nearly 5k with no local warranty. Well it depends. I don't think there is a simpler answer that the NEC wins over all. GX3 comes with a AMVA panel @ 1920x1200 60Hz, contrast ratio of 1000:1, brightness 500cd/m², as usual 178 degrees VA. Comes with 2xHDMI as well. Remote control (this is the one thing I'm attracted to NEC Expected to be around RM4.5k |

4.5 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then again.... i did pay RM 4.2 for my Dell 2405FPW when it was brand new and the high end of it's time .... But imho these days i try to spend less if possible. That is why i've been recommended the HP cauz for Rm 2.4k for this sort of monitor is damn good. Compare 2.4k with 4k + !! big difference in price Anyway i will look for the review for the monitor you mention. Does it have an internal lut i wonder ? http://www.prad.de/en/news/shownews_tft1885.html But it's only a VA panel type so how can it be more expensive then a H-IPS monitor such as the HP which is only RM 2.4k ?? I saw it has 2 hdmi, but even 1 hdmi for me is just fine. More HDMI is really only needed for a HDTV in the living room. This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Sep 17 2008, 10:48 AM |
