wow.. the mechanic show me.. even small problem can lead to catastrophic cases:

case 1 - leaky radiator cause overheat - burnt the gaskets - proton no stock to replace for 1 year sitting at workshop (not his shop)

case 2 - leaky reservior for amt oil. manufacturing fault i think as the crack doesnt seem from force. but the real problem is at the drain plugs at the oilpan ( i think) leak until the amt cant work, cant change gear and the amt light on. just double seal the leak solved the case

i dint know this guy can fix so many thing until i chat with him abt savvy and he start pulling spareparts from under his table to show me smile.gif

i think the base thing to troubleshoot a car is the basics. mechanics use some logic in troubleshooting. and so far this guy fully use this to his advantage. and with some modification skills..no car is too difficult to troubleshoot.

how bad is ur jerking? happened all the time within 1k - 2k rpm? or happened when changing gear only? the latter one quite normal to me. especially if i use manual mode, can feel jerk if i didnt press throttle n change to gear 2. if didnt release throttle a bit, changing gear is smooth.

hurm. u should try find any amt user n compare with ur car. ok or not. well, mine doesnt hv any jerking probs like u mention above. got one time but due to my bro forgot to tight the hose connected with the tb, causing water sipping thru it. sad.gif

got warranty? if they blame ecu, cannot ask them change new one?

if possible try find any amt user u know. compare. bring to sc. show them they are wrong.
*
My jerking is not that bad. just it's a bit shaky shake when accelerating lelow 2000rpm. Something like out-of-tuned 130Y..... but stil not that serious...doh.gif

Restart car then problem solved.

When I doubt SC's comment, they brought me another Savvy which supposedly belongs to The Branch Manager. I'm not convinced & they bring me the i-care car....They're all with this kinda shaky feel like my car but one thing is worse than mine is restart did not solve the problem for those car and the jerk is persistant..... doh.gif

Well....I'll try to do a TB clean on next service. At this moment I just used a sealant to seal the "suspected" wirings. See if it happens again.

They said Change ECU is pointless as theer's no new revision nor new softwaer to solve the prob.

They also pointed out Valve seat in the engine itself might be a problem as Proton never clean the protective wax on the seat when manufacturing the car. This problem do not occure on newer batch of savvy.

They also said that only frequent user such as sales person or someone lked to travel with his car will noticed that as the problem is very sporadic.

Let's try to ask then clean the TB before other speculation....

btw, how much is Renautech to clean the TB??? Can they read any hidden troublecode? T shaped PDT2000 cannot read hidden code while nre PDT2000Plus used by my Service Daeler can somehow read hidden codes based on my previous experience.

I do not wish to modify the TDC sensor.....coz they're new design.... sweat.gif

Also if TDC sensor fault wil have some sort of trouble code right? My previous sensor do have such error + Brake switch error. But this time w/o error.... doh.gif

Does it jerk only when it's below 2000 rpm on 2nd gear?...if it is then it's the TDC sensor bring dirty...try to clean it yourself with the guide I posted on first page and clean the connector and ECU also..

My dealer will clean the TB for me tomorrow.

According to his statement, the TDC sensor and all other engine sensor reading is within spec even when driving....

So let's see if he's assumption is true...

My car's an AMT.... i dare not do it myself given that I seen how messy it is when dealing with TDC sensor beside the pump doh.gif

ahh hard to start can be caused by dirty throttle body also...

if you take out the TB and see the butterfly valve gap, it's very small...and this small gap throttles the engine at constant 2000 RPM if you install back the TB without hooking up the wire connector (since ours is throttle by wire type)!..so dirt, gunk, carbon could affect the starting, and idling... at usual idling 900 (hot), 1200 (cold) - the valve will close the already small gap further - that's why must clean TB at times.

the original HU i saw during the technology day even got a steering remote control wire.

its a 2 wire system, and the remote is based on resistance. for example, hitting 27k means vol up.

hey..when installing my new hu, I found out there's 2 extra pins unused on the stock clarion HU, from the cable connector only 4 wires - there are 6 pins on the HU.. wires are ground, 12V battery, remote/acc wire and illumination trigger..and the other 2 function??

there is pin 1 and 5 on the HU, but no wires from the connector.

sequence from 1 from top to down, left to right

based on the clarion website
http://www.clarionworld.co.uk/stock/iso.asp

pin 1 = various??? / steering remote? or aux in..

pin 5 = auto aeriel, we don't have this..

+12v
Battery= live wire

+12v
Ignition = not at ignition, can be trigger at acc already/ and for remote functiom..

My SD don wanna do so coz they hv to charge me for the cleaning initially..... doh.gif I'm not going back to the SD for sure.

It looks promising now, but one thing funny is it cannot start initially after the TB is cleaned... only full throttle start works at that initial start. sweat.gif

im not experience in this. but for the 1st few xxx km i should go to the proton service center rite? after how many km or how many years ony i can find outside mechanic? and for spare parts and so on, izzit easy to find for savvy now days. really wanna drive dis savvy for a long long time. afraid it wouldnt last as long as my 10 years old kancil tongue.gif

Wanted to get Myvi initially but it seems kinda expensive. As for Viva it seems over priced. da metals like so fragile.

i confuse which one is 07 model? is it the same look as the first model? i mean the one that look like waja front from the back? if that one then i might want to get new model instead.
