yesterday i drove constantly 150-170km/h for 20mins along plus highway using my AMT savvy! (2nd time my car hit 170km/h sweat.gif) actually the story begin when i saw a white SE MyVI driving so fast (that time my speed around 120km/h). then,i tailgating the myvi at 150-160km/h! guess what? my car can push even faster. the matter of fact, myvi will never beat SAVVY tongue.gif

i dare to do so cos my petrol usage is claimable tongue.gif

Got my sterling grey 2007 M-Line AMT today.

Went through the checklist with the SA, and everything checks out OK.

Took the car on the highway for engine break-in, right up to 145km/h.

Very stable and thank god, a rattle-free interior. Happy with the Savvy!
*
anyone will shock when they know car like savvy got a great stability even in hi-speed. 145km/h is peanut for savvy nod.gif

Yeah, I was quite surprised that a small car like the Savvy can be pushed to more than 140km/h without breaking a sweat.

I have driven the Alfa 156 selespeed and surprisingly the AMT is not too bad in comparison.  thumbup.gif
*
comparing Alfa and SAWY? no way man.. (just acting like MyVi fanboy tongue.gif )

my latest FC report

i straight away went to petrol station right after the fuel indicator start blinking. then i set mileage count to zero and refuel RM30. this time i drive more to uncle style in economic way happy.gif average speed around 80-90km/h. 90km highway, 70km jalan kampung and the rest city driving with a lot of traffic light and traffic jam.

i managed to get 244km before the fuel bar start blinking again. so, with rm30 can go 244km. 30/244=0.12 means 1km only RM0.12 almost the same like what proton claim that savvy only consume RM0.11 of petrol per km.

btw, im driving AMT, done 40k km already.

dear mutt
can u do the test using this method

1. pump full tank till click
2. reset to zero
3. run around 100km
4. go back to the same station, same gun, same time
5. pump full tank again till click

see whats the fuel consumption (xx liter/km)

Added on July 1, 2008, 12:47 amsavvy wait list... unknown.. coe also dunno how long the wait is cry.gif
*
uik blink.gif u want me to do a test? a real test? then who gonna sponsor me sweat.gif i never treat my savvy softly cos my right foot quite evil in the highway laugh.gif . but since my boss delay my salary for last month (still havent got until today vmad.gif ) then i need to jimat the car petrol and was suprising that savvy really can save that much! as what i stated earlier, i can get RM0.12 per km or 22.5km per liter (2.70/0.12)

this week i wanna send my car for 40k service. this is my 1st time i service my savvy (previously it's my dad's. just handover to me swap with my kembara dvvt laugh.gif ) i hope that u guys can give me some advice and suggestion like what is the best engine oil, what things need to be checked etc etc.

thx in advance smile.gif

my latest FC report

pump RM50 right after my fuel indicator start blinking. set mileage meter to zero and i manage to get 251km only sleep.gif (2nd pump manage to get 257km)

40% highway
30% 2 lane road
30% city

the reasons my savvy not enough 'savvy' are

on highway, my average speed was 150km/h sweat.gif
on 2lane road, drive like ah beng, over taking cars and lorries recklessly sleep.gif
too much braking and accelerating

3rd pump, refuel RM50. manage to get 317km

this time my average speed is 100km/h
normal driving style. sometimes too much braking and accelerating

tyre pressure also play the major role in fuel saving.

* my reports based on the same road i use

QUOTE(hypermount @ Aug 4 2008, 09:16 PM)
The Myvi was just plain disappointing. It handles like a strand of wet noodle, it isn't particularly comfortable, and built quality was just so-so. The engine was coarse and loud, was not powerful, and road noise was very memorable. Also, word is around that the fuel consumption is awful, in some cases with people claiming it costs about as much as their Wira 1.5, a car that is about 15 years older, is carburettored, has a 3 speed auto, and weighs about the same. The only reason why anyone should buy it is because of the perceived reliability of Peroduas. To make matters worse, it isn't cheap. I would say there is no reason, under any circumstance, that anyone should buy it, but the Myvi fanboys would come at me real quick. Just witness the mindless "Myvi rules..." posting in local forums...

6L/90km already a good figure compare to other cars in the same segment. i read a review in a local newspaper said that naza bestari FC less than 6L/90km (the test driver manage to get 50km for RM10)

well, its a town driving. dats y i am surprise. sweat.gif

i assume u did less accelerating and braking. this will contribute to a good FC. may i know how u measure the FC? as for me, i'll set the meter to zero right after the indicator start blinking. then i refuel and wait until the meter blinking again and that's my mileage reading. IMO that's the most accurate way to measure the FC.

wow.. the mechanic show me.. even small problem can lead to catastrophic cases:

case 1 - leaky radiator cause overheat - burnt the gaskets - proton no stock to replace for 1 year sitting at workshop (not his shop)

case 2 - leaky reservior for amt oil. manufacturing fault i think as the crack doesnt seem from force. but the real problem is at the drain plugs at the oilpan ( i think) leak until the amt cant work, cant change gear and the amt light on. just double seal the leak solved the case

i dint know this guy can fix so many thing until i chat with him abt savvy and he start pulling spareparts from under his table to show me smile.gif

we need more ppl like him to be in proton SC!

How on earth are you guys getting such high km/l?

For me I very very rarely get stuck in traffic. 95% of my driving is highway or regular town driving, and my overall average is always 13-14km/l only. Is it a heavier right foot issue?
*
yes sleep.gif

but at least i'll get 15km/L

and im heavy footed driver too.

I bought the Savvy car in Jan'09. the salesmen kinda dishonest with me..when the time i approach him ( nov'08 ) he said i still can get the promotion along with car..which is free petrol card, tinted, free service warranty..etc.

After i got the car the salesmen telan all the promotion and  even thou not giving me the tinted.i was complained him to the officer in his branch..the officer seem to be standing in the salesmen side. vmad.gif

After all , i really hate buying proton car.but overall the performance of the savvy is fair enuf..i just regret that i choose Semi-Auto..kinda hard to drive
*
AMT is kinda hard to drive? how u justify that? for me im having driving AMT. 'berangan' that im driving a super car and shift the gear up&down frequently tongue.gif
