ya that's true. the reason i couldn't start my car the past few days and suddenly engine died is because of spoilt tdc sensor. so yesterday i brought my car to proton to fix. cost me rm320 for the new sensor. aiyooo. in the last 2 years, i had changed one already but that time it's under warranty. this is the 2nd time already
*
whuaa? u buy new one aa? i tot can just clean the sensor? much cheaper that way. unless ur tdc sensor broken.

Want to ask. Anyone of you here have the 2 + 3 years(extended warranty)? I bought the extended warranty when i bought my Savvy. So far, i think the sensor replaced 1 time (previously, 2nd and 3rd gear jerking). So is the sensor covered under extended warranty? Any ideas?

This seems like regularly rosak one...sweat.gif

My Savvy is now 1 year +, btw.

Anybody knows how to remove the back proton logo? My fren's 4yrs old Savvy's logo already discoloured/washed out and he wants to replace it with newer -- probably the black and silver -- version.

Is the original just a sticker or screwed to the bonnet?

yep it's the new type one which prevents water from getting inside the tdc sensor area. btw actually b4 dis i had been going to rsauto back and forth few times already. they did many things with the tdc...modify the wire, solder the wire, replace wire and so on. but the prob still persist. and this finally made me to go to proton sc once and for all.

i own AMT savvy 07..... it is a good car in term of handling... i driven most k cars, honestly nothing beats savvy handling.. stable at 170km/h, just got sound..

mad.gif but worst car ever built by renault engine.. always sensor problem... after 1 year ++ AMT start kurap... always sensor vmad.gif .. takut wanna use tat car oso..

at the same time savvy body is damn strong coz i hit murano b4. thumbup.gif
overall if u guys really really wanna get savvy take it wit 5 years warranty coz i regret nw.. mine 2yr oly...but better not.. think 100x times..

samore the  Potong dont wan to solve our AMT problem, sc also dunno hw to fix it and it cost thousandzzz.

Same here bro...always got problem with my savvy. Some more when you go to repair shop the mechanic always tell me why you go buy this car...until sometimes i so malu. But the AMT system really bothers me especially the amber lights coming up, the tdc sensor, and the jerking problem, sometimes fetch people they say wah 2 year old car like that already. Anyway for all those people who wants to buy the Savvy think twice, my personal opinion is there will be faulty problems with the AMT system which Proton doesn't even care to solve. Secondly you will be speding more $$$ in repairing the car, even though 5 years warranty seems like a good deal but then u have to think of beyond 5 years. I did check with the sales center although they mentioned newer savvy has better AMT system however how true that is, is yet to be confirmed. Anyway my savvy is SOLD. Happy to get rid of this car.

well.. its depend.. some said how the car react on how u use it..

take care = less problem.. if always abuse the amt n only service (change oil) didnt do anything else = yes u will throw all your money away for repair.. yes this car need fully caring.. all the sensor sensitive.. you must check n service all the sensor every 10000km.. add the amt system should be inspect every 40000km (unofficial SC staff recommendation)..

just solve my problem.. its not the starter, just an add-on relay kaput.. change it n my car start like a charm.. only cost rm30.. glad i go to RSauto before buying starter..

couldnt agree more!

luckily its just the relay. i had the same problem with my 12 year old iswara last time. some mechanic just advise me to go for recond starter motor. then i found one honest one who just added a relay for me. rm10 settle the problem. sommore teach me how to 'hotwire' to start my car in case everything fails.

Added on June 22, 2009, 11:46 pmanyone got petrol smell in the car syndrom? how to solve?

That's why i skipped the AMT version an go for the Manual, eventhough i like the AMT very much. I know the cost and headaches of solving AMT problem will be a nightmare. So far, quite happy with my Savvy. But now i think the suspension is a bit used, last time when go over bumpy road quite steady, but now seems a bit louder/bumpier, but still better than my Myvi. Maybe ask technician to check on coming service.

What do you guys think? How to make the suspension not so bumpy? What do you call this? Hard or soft suspension?

i tested before, the smell will come if you pump petrol until 6 bars or full tank.
if pump until 5 bars, the smell won't appear.
weird huh. lol
