but tomorrow will change to new set of ignition coil. as a result of the so heavily rain weather nowadays...

how old is ur car?

2 years oledi but low mileage. just clocked 34k only

Why raining thn must change ignition coil?
*
one of the connector got moisture inside. when took out the connector, can see the brownish mark like there's water inside
so now, when driving, the engine stutter badly but still can move la. since today no stock for the coil, so has to wait for tmrw. SC ppl said the car can still move safely and wont jeopardise the engine. is it true? coz i really need to use the car to go to work tmrw. the next day then only i'll bring the car to change for a new set.

is your car still under warranty - it's the classic problem...the coil is actually fine - there's leakage at the end of the connector boot nia, so keep the oldcoil if you have it changed to new one...

thx for the detail explaination...but i guess i'm not that DIY type...hahaha...even TDC cleaning also need to bring to kedai. lol
btw, my warranty's over alredi according to the service book.hmm
actually before i went to SC, i did servicing at RS auto on the same day in the morning and complained about the stuttering engine problem. They were the one who detect the coil broken rosak 1st. RS auto also has ignition coil for the price of rm380 but they say it's not ori. So i postpone 1st and brought back the car home, after i did the engine oil change there la (now, trying 10w30 Amsoil icon_idea.gif )

Hows the Amsoil ATM 10W/30? Feels good eh? Now on nearly 40k km on this (third time drain change)...plan to extend another 5km to 15k km before 4th drain with 3 oil filter change.

For the fuel cap - i've seen savvy with those Brother type R cap chrome colour - should be cheap - no need to paint.

I think should be called fuel lid. the cap is the plastic cap inside one.
*
the Amsoil.....so far......
can't really test it well coz of the underpowered car( spoilt coil)
i'm driving slow these days and shift the gear gently to make the stuttering not so obvious
have to wait until this Saturday coz just now went to SC, the coil still hasn't arrived yet as expected.
huhuhu

Anybody here has a clear line cut on the problem fixed from 2007 to 2008 model?

I also test drove the 1st batch AMT from one of SA cars, no problem, smooth and I like it. But surfing around and asking around my circle of friends who owned it push me back from getting one. sad.gif
*
i think new model will have new type of ignition coil (the separatable cable one)
so less problem coz the older model got old version of ignition coil and coil issue was common back then
u can read my problem on this matter few pages back

mach5 is mineral oil, syntium is semi-syntetic oil
so i think semi-syntetic is more better that's y it's more expensive than mach5

Tenkiu bro junyen and deodoran, understand it clearly now. but wanna ask something regarding exhaust, if i install the hotbits exhaust system, for sure my pickup will increase but will it affect my topspeed? (means difficult to attain top speed?)
one more thing, my car is amt, installing it wont harm the complicated amt system rite?

QUOTE(Thunder_Bolt @ Dec 21 2008, 04:23 AM)
Anyone here installed voltage stabilizer on their Savvy?
Is this recommended?
*
Yeps, i am using voltage stabilizer. brand zaptor. what i can say is, it makes my ride smoother. when i first install it, i do notice the effect immediately nod.gif

why do u say it'll affect your topspeed? i thought it'll be easier to reach your topspeed and even higher topspeed? Due to more horsepower.. and the waste air is exhausted faster?

AMT is just the gear box.. installing these things are related to the engine only... if i'm not mistaken..

Voltage stabilizer is for wat? For the 'Drive by wire'?
*
what i meant maybe is the 4-2-1 type or 4-1 type of extractor thingy...since 4-2-1 is good for top speed whereas 4-1 is good for accelaration (correct me if i'm wrong)...
dunno whether the hotbits is which type extractor...hmm
and i believe our exhaust piping is straight piping rite (or not?)

i think voltage stabilizer is for stabilizing the flow of volts in electronic component (correct me if i'm wrong)
and i feel it's worth it for me when changing gear becomes smoother since mine is amt...altho it wont eliminate the sound totally but it feels lighter and smooth

Only change manual gearbox oil at 40k km...sealed inside the gearbox w/o exposing to any byproducts of combustion like engine oil - it should last you a very long time or life time..

only concern is the AMT oil ..go for quality orignal renaumatic oil..
Found out by NK - 2006 AMT value is still RM32k..due to fuel hike and it's a fuel saver car.
*
wah reli rm32k ah? where he valued the car? thumbup.gif
coz i did ask a proton sales guy last saturday, if i want to trade in my car is how much. he replied around rm18k. seems so low. mine is amt 2006 too.

Hmm I've noticed that Shell V-Power gives a noticeably higher km/l than normal Shell. My last V-Power tank gave me a 14.5 km/l which is about a 8% increase than my average mileage.

Of course, the price of V-Power is also much more expensive la, hehe.
*
that's why i only fill v-power when i'm driving long journey, much saving... hehehe biggrin.gif
