MY MOTTO:

Weight: 51.5

OVERVIEW REVIEW
GOAL- increase 0.5kg minimum per week

6/6/08-12/6/08 WEEK 1 50.10-51.5kg JOURNEY BEGIN
13/6/08-19/6/08 WEEK 2 51.6-52.2kg extra 0.1kg
20/6/08-26/6/08 WEEK 3 51.1kg to 51.6kg FAIL goal (goal was 52.6kg)
27/6/08-2/7/08 WEEK 4 51.5-53.0kg Almost reach (goal was 53.1kg)

NEXT GOAL- 53.6kg flex.gif

16-20 years old. The best time to grow. Good for you, m8. I should have known better and started at that age too, i was scrawnier and worse... i am short.

You'll probably grow just by doing push ups, pull ups and squats.

when i reach 75kg hen only i start thinking whether light or not!

if i can go up 1kg per week( hopefully)
i can go up 25kg in 6 months!

but most likely 0.5 minimum per week!

anyway, the good thing of ectos is that due to the high metabolism rate, is very hard for me to gain fat, and if i gain weight, that mens i gain muscle.

the bad thing is,damn hard to gain weight. doh.gif

Love handles are the fatty blob on the side of the waist. Beer belly is the fat blob in front (most common reason - too much alcohol XD).

I've seen many ecto people starting to grow a belly or love handles around the age of 20++ to late 30's. At first it's just a wee bit only. Then by age 30+ to 40 --> a fully formed beer belly. I was as thin as you guys, then mamak culture appeared, now I feel a bit of extra layer around the waist. Nasib baik it's only a bit... not too late to get rid.

What's your workout plan anyway? E.g. Snecx had a nice plan all laid out properly. All he has to do is just follow it, eat and grow. It's no wonder he's growing like mad.

Anyway, you guys are starting at a good age. Whatever exercise you do also you'll grow if you eat and rest well.

I just do chest and Abs in the gym.

And bicep tricep forearm at home with dumbell

If I understand correctly, you need compound exercises to grow. Specializing on chest, abs, arm, won't make these parts grow big all of a sudden. I researched for about 6 months before I started my transformation goal. Don't rush it, keep reading. Knowledge will be your best friend.

I failed once before after gaining only 6kg for 6 months. Even that 6kg never looked close to what I am now after gaining the same amount of weight.

weight training won't stunt ur growth, so no worry biggrin.gif

squat target at Quadriceps (front thighs). for tricep & bicep, i think the effect is very low. but i think it does train ur grip strength.

This one I say one (I'm open for debate) -->
The strength of a real man is his back -- shoulders, middle back, lats, lower back+abs. You can have the best chest in the world, but a lousy back means you can't carry heavy objects, you can't lift yourself up a tree, you can't throw a ball far, you're not as stable during football/basketball, you can't throw your body against your opponent around in the court...

day 2 dumbbell for tricep and bicep
day 3 chest+abs
day 4 dumbell again
day 5 chest+abs
day 6 maybe rest
day 7 rest

dumbell exercises done at home in my room

i train for nice body, not for strength or other thing.
when i get a nice physique, i then will try to maintain it, and start jogging.
I love jogging, but jogging makes me loss too much weight cry.gif

when you're 50kg, eat whatver you see on sight, eat until you want to vomit, carbs is the best source for gaining weight it also helps on building up muscle, protein are to fix things up.

i have high metabolism rate, which means i burn fat before my body consumes it.
so every weight i gain is muscle mass,but my body burns protein fast too.

haiz, still eating like mad, when full,rest, and eat eat eat, drink water abit, rest, and eat eat eatLOLOLOL

as iamyuanwu said, the body did not have much stimulation to grow by just doing chest and arms.
and the worst part is the machines did not hit the stabilizer muscle, as the compound.

im using the same multi station b4, but i found my most gain with free weights smile.gif

Eat more after you jog lah.

Like Bata said, chest arms and abs exercises ALONE are useless. I know because that's what I did for a year monday to friday. Total weight gain = 1.5kg in a year + a tiny wee bit of abs. Just bl00dy heck squat if you really want to grow (squat with body weight also can).
Here's a pretty good video for body weight squat (Crossfit calls it air squat):

Don't do the sissy push up, do kaulat push ups -- 4sec down, pause, explode up, squeeze the chest, repeat. Search Chris Comfort in Youtube for some kaulat push ups videos.

My personal hypothesis again (again, it's open for debate as it might be flawed) --> You want your front part (chest & abs) to grow, you've got to work your whole back too (row, deadlift, pull ups). Your back is always stronger than your front. You body is smart and won't allow your front to be too much stronger than the back. You strengthen the back, you front gets stronger too. Stronger normally means muscle growth for skinny people.

Generally agreed by all that...
1kg body weight would need 1g of protein for maintainence and growth (protein from food + supplements). Skinny bastards like us are recommended to take 1.5-2g of protein per kg body wt everyday to grow muscles.

Depending on how long and the intensity of your jog, I guess you'll need to up your energy intake and increase your protein too. Basically, eat more good stuff.

BTW, what shoulder exercise are you doing?
Oh yeah, remember to stretch a lot. Expecially if you have the butt wink during your squat. Ask a friend who knows how to squat to spot for you... spotting yourself in the mirror is OK OK only lah.

I limit my workout to 3 days a week and do not even dare to waste energy unnecessarily. You so brave go workout 6 days a week. Enough energy to grow meh?

He needs to gain mass eh, almost 50% more (50kg to 75kg). 6 days/week with his diet will not do him good. If want to maintain the weight then workout 7 days a week also can relax la.

I may want to start a log but not now lo....at home my eating habit is kinda undisciplined, sometime dun eat breakfast also,sleep very late,not enough rest,no proper equipment yet,juz doing home workout...but im very strict on working out 4 times a week.
luckily my uni got free gym...once the new semester start then I can control my eating and have proper equipment to workout icon_idea.gif maybe start a log too

That... is something you might want to avoid. That is if you want to keep your body fat very low lah.

Why not go have your body fat measured and track it monthly.

BTW, fries+coke = recipe for fatness. Just check out the energy content and sugar content of the fries and coke (it's on the piece of paper on the tray).
Burgers are still ok, at least there's a piece of nice meat. You can ask for mineral water instead of coke in McD. But I'm super cheapskate --- I just order a burger, and get my drinks from Fitness First or Carrefour/Giant nearby.

Most fitness centres normally have a weighing machine that can also measure body fat.

Small electrical current is conducted through your body to find out body fat. Some requires you to grip a metal sensor so the current flows from hands to toes.

morning 1 whey
breakfast rice+egg+pieces of black pepper chicken
lunch skipped=.= drank a 1 scop of whey
then went to water park
In water park ate 1 burger+fries+coke
Dinner missed SLEPT
woke up, watch Tv, then eat 2 piece of breed and 1 scoop whey

at ur age... and my age.. really hard to gain weight/mass cuz of high metabolism.. once i got my wisdom tooth taken out.. cant eat solid food for 2 days... weight drop to 52kg.... now 57.5kg... arggg when we get older 20+ easier to gain weight =)

haha, at least at my age due to high metabolism we gain little fats and everytime we gain are usually muscle mass.

if after 20++ gain weight easy, but gain all is fats LULZ laugh.gif

raindrops, i used to have a similar body to yours, maybe even skinnier. been hitting the gym for 4 months now and have seen vast improvements in size. one thing i realised is the use of free weights (e.g. barbell / dumbell benchpresses) are the best way to go. i used to "bantai" the weights without proper form til recently my friend showed me the way to go. start really light, but instead pushing the normal way, double the pushup time (meaning go slower). hold for a sec or 2 before slowly returning.

the contractions really help spur muscle growth, especially if your just starting off the results will show in a short span of time, provided u push yourself. in short, free weights, start off light, push really slow - feel the muscle contraction - pushing to failure helps as well.

i'm no expert, but i've experienced some nice changes to my physique training this way.

oh and yea, my weight has remained the same (56kg) though ppl think im at least 60kg now. flex.gif

Dude, I really respect that you strip and take pic in your gym haha. Usually people do it in the toilet and by doing that it does 'attract' alot of eyes too haha

btw, the amount of rice u eat, ahem, is not that good la, white rice are like simple sugar, breaks easily and thus becomes fats..just my 2 cents.

dude, if u want simple food but ultra good carbs, take wholegrain bread cheaper and makes u fuller better than rice

wholemeal bread isnt that expensive afterall, get a loaf from giant/tesco, its cheaper than gardenia. Alternatively, go get some oats, you can get it for ~RM10 for 1 kg which can last me for quite some time. btw, dont take too much simple carbs/sugar as it will be converted into fats if not used. Bulk is not about putting on fats though:) just my 2 cents.

If you feel light-headed or dizzy during exercise, bring a bottle of water and drink them during work out ... I used to be get very light-headed too after I finished HIIT and I searched about it and found out that it can be caused of lack of water in the water and the situation seems to change a lot after I drink a lot of water during work out.

Your body type very easy leh .. Doesn't need to mind about those fat or too high carb ... Just that too hard to grow.

but my mini gym also lack of oxygen, the window always open sikit sikit.

erh, dont gulp one shot, but drink or sip bit by bit, u definitely need water between sets. I used to be like u, dont like drinking water...and i realized i really lose my strength easily after a few sets.

Then...i started sipping bit by bit after every sets and try to adjust on how much water i can take to replenish and not to make me bloat with water (so i can do abs training haha). its about testing out urself on how much water u can take. I normally take around 1~2 litre of water throughout the workout. Then i will end with 500ml later for my post workout drink
