I have a Question.
Can RE5, SF4 and Demon's Souls save data transfer to new upgraded HDD? back up utility work with these protected game saves?

Yup you can actually...if you use the back up utility...It backs up all of the items in your HDD...even the copy protected save file...

p/s: Just upgraded mine last two weeks (320 GB only)...all is fine except for one day after upgrading when it gave me a msg saying that my hdd data is corrupted and asked me to restart. After restarting, it ran a check..and after that it's all okay...and no more problem.

So anyone verified yet about the heating issues of 7200rpm hdd?

otherwise i might just stick with getting the 5000rpm one instead.

last week am upgraded 60GB to 500GB ... throw old 60GB to dustbin ... so far no problem with new 500GB smile.gif

make sure you choose quick format NOT full format ... 500GB full format takes you around 28 hours rclxub.gif

next time you want to backup 500GB data ... am believe it will take more than 1 day to backup cry.gif

last time when i backup my 22gb data from the original 80gb it took 28 minutes. Transfer back into the 500gb also took same time.

if the 500gb is full it might took around 6 hours!

What issue? Never was an issue to begin with.

The heat produced from a 7200RPM HDD is hardly enough to cause the PS3 troubles. I've been running on a 250GB 7200RPM HDD on my PS3 for half a year now, never cause me a problem and it should not.

The heat increase in from a 5400RPM HDD to 7200RPM is barely noticeable, at the very most 1-3c difference.

No idea why. I backed up my 40GB in 20 minutes.

Use swissknife to format your HDD into FAT32.
