Mostly its wisest to go for the best gigabyte-per-dollar ratio when buying a HDD.
Which means, currently, Western Digital's 320GB(WD3200VE-SATA) is the best choice at the moment, its going for about RM200 right now.

was thinking to upgrade my 60gb to 500gb all the way. my 60gb only left 900mb.

my question:
how much space do we need in the external drive if decide to backup a 60gb hdd? do we need oso 60gb hdd space for backup or the backup will just take an image of the hdd n compress it.

thanks

I think the last time I did it, you need as much hard disk space as your PS3 is using. Lets say your 60GB is used until 40GB, then you need 40GB. IINM. smile.gif

so just plug in an external hdd thru the USB port then start 'backuping' right? It includes demos, trophies,
how about save data and PSN ID?

what 500gb disk you using? 5400 or 7200? I heard the 7200 will cause heating issues... can anyone verify?
