QUOTE(ZalaDestiny @ Aug 27 2008, 01:30 PM) Viewnet's main branch is in 3rd floor. Just go through the lane in between C-Zone and Cycom(PC Zone is next to Cycom), go all the way straight to the back and turn left. You'll see Viewnet then. |

The only 160GB SKU available now is in the US, and thats the Uncharted Bundle.
Malaysia only has 80GB. I'm assuming they have ugpraded the HDD to 160GB beforehand though. There are a few shops in Sunway doing that as well. Either way it isn't such a good deal. You can get an 80GB now for RM1550, a 320GB HDD costs only another RM210. You do the math.... |

QUOTE(sykhairuldin @ Jan 14 2009, 05:39 PM) newbie here. Mostly its wisest to go for the best gigabyte-per-dollar ratio when buying a HDD.what type/brand can you all suggest if i'm interested to upgrade my PS3. is there any guide here that i can refer on how to upgrade the PS3 hdd? Which means, currently, Western Digital's 320GB(WD3200VE-SATA) is the best choice at the moment, its going for about RM200 right now. |

QUOTE(Kerry1136 @ Mar 8 2009, 04:06 PM) Make sure your firmware is up to date.QUOTE(gnsumas @ Mar 8 2009, 04:27 PM) No, never upgrade but considering la. Official support is up to 750GB now, but no one will buy a 750GB unless you have pockets so deep that even recession cannot kill you. Also, what is the biggest can masuk? Saw one guy with a Tag that said 500GB PS3. |

QUOTE(abasan @ Apr 6 2009, 02:27 PM) So anyone verified yet about the heating issues of 7200rpm hdd? What issue? Never was an issue to begin with.otherwise i might just stick with getting the 5000rpm one instead. The heat produced from a 7200RPM HDD is hardly enough to cause the PS3 troubles. I've been running on a 250GB 7200RPM HDD on my PS3 for half a year now, never cause me a problem and it should not. The heat increase in from a 5400RPM HDD to 7200RPM is barely noticeable, at the very most 1-3c difference. QUOTE(fremont88 @ May 11 2009, 05:58 PM) bro, i backup my ps3, only used 40GB to my external hdd..it took 9 hours!!! any idea why? i havent change my hdd yet, scare that to restore will take another 9 hours!!! No idea why. I backed up my 40GB in 20 minutes.also, what program do you guys use to format your hdd to fat32, since windows cannot. Tks. Use swissknife to format your HDD into FAT32. |

Yeap exactly.
No point in getting a SATA extension either as well since a 1TB 3.5" is miles cheaper. This isn't for the PS3. |

Yes.
Although 2 platters of 500GB in a 2.5" is going to be even more expensive than this. |

Not OS....
Users created are stored in the PS3's flash memory. Previously (the 20, 60, 80 with ps2 emu, 40GB versions) the flash memory contains your firmware details as well. Now however, the firmware is on your HDD. So make sure to update your firmware as well if you are using the newer version of PS3s. |
