Went to SIS to upgrade to 1.93. My god, TFLo is super fast now! I regretted not doing this much sooner! I also noticed that 1.93 frees up at least 5% of processing power (previously was at 62% now at 57%). Have to go to PDA Expert to reinstall all my programs again. Oh, the staff in SIS told me that there is a new ROM due to be released soon ... no idea when though.

I have a love-hate relationship with 1.93.

Now, when you slide over the TFLO, there is no transition effect anymore. The background amination is no longer there. You lose the 'Flow' effect.

Second, when you slide over using TFLO and back to home, the clock would not flip anymore. Ah..how i miss this feature. It's a great show-off gimmick.

I feel the TFLO has lost some dynamism. It feels static.

I guess you cannot have the cake and eat it.

it's always safe to make comparison after you have the standard list of programs installed. we all tend to be happy user right after rom flash and pulled back our word after putting back the old programs.

Get the xda-developers 3rd party ROM based on the same 1.93 ROM and other tweaks. TLR v3 ROM has these animations intact except for the background flow. I find that not necessary actually. Alternatively, there's a separate TouchFlo3D cab (newer version) available. I am not sure if you can install right over the default one. You can give it a try.

Do u guys know anything about the newer batch of diamonds having better lcd display? A friend of mine bought his recently and asked me to upgrade the ROM. When I compared with mine side by side, I realize his has more contrast and depth as well as much better viewing angle. Both are running on the same ROM btw.

yes its about normal. stock rom right? if yes its normal. i think.

@ganas, interesting info. no idea about that. oh well, i doubt its a change of lcd, but probably some contrast adjustment. see if u change your backlight u can duplicate the effect.

oh and my 1800 mah battery is here!!

Hmm, u`re right ... the TFlo is ....erm, less flashy now but then I`m a person who subscribe to practicality more compared to esthetics.

This is the product i bought.

AFter using it for a while i realise that the GPS cannot connect with the Touch Diamond. I do not want to swap batteries everytime i need to connect to GPS. So i'm selling this battery for RM150 only. Used for 1 day, cheaper than if u buy from overseas plus shipment everything. Any takers?

too bad, as earlier mention, thirdparty battery GPS wont work due there is hidden circuit in the battery which will only triggel the GPS.

I wish that was true coz after digging around on xda developers I can confirm that there are two types of panel where one is inferior when compared to the other one. Anyway here are some pics I took of the two phones I have with me right now. You be the judge folks cool2.gif

Notice the color washout from the side angle on one of the phones?

Both on same ROM, same backlight settings, not maxed but on the 7th bar. Anyway, it's not so obvious if u look directly from the front. It's only noticeable when u looked from the side. It's like the viewing angle is lesser compared to the new one. In term of color, the newer one has more contrast and depth which is nicer. It's more vibrant.

come to think of it, mine seems to be the slightly 'yellowish' one, even i set the backlight to max. But won't the 'inferior' screen more easy on the eyes as the contrast is not so apparent? i bought mine about two weeks ago.
