Just came back from Midvalley .... PDA Expert there has stocks and selling them for RM2,799. Was sorely tempted to buy but the finger print marks was a huge turn off.

Baronic, after using for a while, what`s ur overall verdict? The best PDA u`ve used?

PDA Expert sold out the TD? I went to LY just now (around 4pm) and theres at least 20-30 sets - ground floor (various shops)
*
Really? Cool .... must check them out on Thursday when I`m down there. I went to Midvalley, Digital Mall and Pyramid ... no stock. But then they say stock will arrive in PJ on Wednesday. I prefer PDA Expert coz I`m not that pro until I don`t need after sales service. If I screw up my system, I can just do a hard reset, bring it back to PDA Expert and ask them to install all my critical softwares again. So far, have got 2 PDAs from them (D810 and TyTnII and no regrets ... yet)

Hey guys, this may sound like a noob question but when I got my Diamond, I copied all SIM contacts to the phone's memory. Now, I`m passing the phone to my wife who has her own set of numbers, how do remove all my earlier copied numbers? There are more than 200 numbers so deleting them one by one does not seem like a feasible idea.

i think u can jus click delete contacts
n there would b options for u to select all to delete

but b kful w sim contacts n outlook contacts... dun delete the wrong thing then u lost everything n gota rekey-in again (provided u hav back it up somewhere)
*
miaka_tama,

Yes, I can click delete contact but unfortunately, there isn't a "select all" function for me to remove all my contacts. Furthermore, Windows Mobile displays contacts saved both in phone and SIM card so as u say, I don`t want to delete the wrong thing. I copied more than 200 contacts to my device so deleting them one by one would be too much of a hassle.

I went back to PDA Experts and they`ve showed me how to do it:

1) Open File Explorer and go to "My Device"
2) Scroll down and u`ll find a file named "pim"
3) Rename that "pim" to something else (ie "pimwhatever"). Important: Do NOT delete the pim file immediately otherwise u`ll get an error message
4) Perform soft-reset
5) U`re done! WM will generate a new pim file and u can delete the earlier renamed pimwhatever file.

I`ve tried it and it works. Hope this helps

I've used TD with my lappie and it works fine, just as fast as when I used D810 and TyTn II. I subscribe to Maxis's unlimited data package ... could it be due to the telco?

hi kenso, i don't think you are able to create new folder for SMS, not even for Outlook Email. to go 'Manage Folder', you must first select 'Outlook Email'.

as for creating new folder for Outlook Email, you can create in your PC desktop then sync over.

Hmm, I thought I didn`t have as much trouble with my D810 in the past hmm.gif

Hey guys, was wondering if I could get some help on this:
I tried Bluetooth-ing some data to another TD but hafway through, I the target TD ran out of memory. I tried tracing where the earlier transmitted file went but was unsuccessful. Could you tell me which folder does BT-ed files go to?

heck, i'm not even using TF3D lol

Hey bro,

I agree that without the TF3D on, the performance of the device is much better. But without it, the screen looks so empty. I can`t even access my Comm Manager easily since there isn`t any small icons for me to click. What can I do to make it have a front screen with usable icons (like what I used to have with the TyTn II where all important icons are there)?

I don't know whether the Qualcomm GPSone (integrated into Touch Diamond) is operational with Garmin Mobile XT, but I manage to get the software detect it, get a satellite lock and obtain a position fix. Now someone please tell me why this is not possible. biggrin.gif
*
I concur david's discovery. I'm using my TD with Mobile XT and it works flawlessly (beautifully too, if I may add with such a high resolution screen). Don't ask me how I got it to run, I had other ppl do it for me (and my wife since both of us use TD). benleong, probably someone in support is either a) is an idiot who doesn't know what he's talking about or b) deliberately making u run around asking for the wrong info

Now, that software is not required anymore because you are able to 'do something' about it, that is if you have search enough.  nod.gif

Ah, I`ve always wondered y I didn`t need a proxy software anymore with my TD as I did with my D810. whistling.gif

Hey guys ... was wandering around LY today looking for a few things but couldn't find ... hope u guys can share what u know ...

1) Any handphone car kit holder for TD? The most common one being sold fits too loosely.
2) Can we buy those microfibre cloths used to wipe glasses? Mine goes missing after a while so thinking of getting a dozen of them and stashing them all over the place so that I can wipe my TD anywhere I go.
3) Just got myself an original HTC car charger & after charging for just a few minutes, the device gets extremely hot (hotter than when using the usual power socket and USB through computer). Is this normal?

1. Freshgear. The shop wanted to sell me one that is compatible for Touch Diamond.

2. Yes you can use microfibre cloths. But I only trust Canon 3M microfibres (RM19.90 per piece). Remember to wash it after some time because the dirt and grime it collects could scratch your surface.

3. The reason is because the original HTC car charger outputs at 2A!!! Check the rear power rating. That's seriously a lot of amperage for a rapid charger. I'm gonna revert back to my Holux GPS charger which outputs at 800mA (0.8A) just to be safe. I hope the Touch Diamond has internal battery charger controller to maintain proper currents to the battery. Otherwise it could burn the charging circuit after prolonged use. I think there should one lar... I'll try to send an email to HTC to verify if this is safe.

Another workaround is to place the holder in such a way it is in front of the aircond blower. Every time you charge, just full blast the aircond and cool it. Hehehehehe! Not very practical though.
*
Thanks for the reply, David. Hmm, where can I find the Canon 3M microfibres? How large do they come?

U`re right .... the output is 2A. Funny, since it`s original, I assume this is an acceptable outage for HTC devices? Even if I put the device at the aircon vent, it doesn't eliminate the issue of too high an outage if it could damage the internal circuits.
