A simple sequence would be like this:

1. Flash a Hard-SPL unsigned version.
2. Choose a ROM of your choice. If the ROM set does not comes with a Radio ROM, choose one also from Xda-Developers.
3. Flash it and you're done.

As to what ROM to use and what Radio ROM and why. You'll still need to do some reading on the above sources given. For a start, I am currently using TLR v3 ROM and it is reasonably good. You may have your own preferences so again, do some reading. You'll be happy soon enough.

Thank you davidmak for the tips and I would think that you have already gathered enough courage to HardSPL your phone. Kudos to you! wink.gif

Yeah, I couldn't wait for HTC's release so I took the plunge. Anyway Hard-SPL was easier than I thought. It takes a few seconds for it to complete. The ROM update however took around 15-20 minutes.

If you think 1.37 is fast... brows.gif then 1.93 is definitely a speed runner. Most of the improvement comes from the .NET Compact Framework v3.5 RTM replacing the current .NET v2.0. With this included into the ROM, most of the UI part is fast even with TouchFlo3D enabled. In most ROM based on 1.93, the TouchFlo3D animation has been optimized to prevent sudden sluggishness like in the 1.37. Also depending on which ROM you choose, the radio ROM has been updated to .5 (stock Radio ROM is .3). This .5 Radio ROM is said to improve the phone part substantially and also attributes to better power efficiency.

I would recommend TLR v3 as a start although DuttyThroy's ROM is just as good. Now the only problem left is the memory management part which still leaks here and there like the 1.37.

I am really tempted to upgrade now.. biggrin.gif Any news if SIS is able to provide free upgrade for this 1.93 ROM? Still gathering courage, my TD is only 1 week old, can't turn it into a brick that soon.. biggrin.gif

I don't know about it since I'm not using TLR's but I'm using my own GM360D.4 Not 2 Lite. You should check whether TheLoanRanger has packaging any kind of battery status utility bar such as batti alike inside the ROM. If that's the case than of course it's OK.

I think you won't get it this soon since it's not officially released to public... yet.

There's nothing wrong with that green line. That is the Batti program. Its a battery status indicator. It gives you a more accurate reading on the battery level instead of that 4 steps battery icon on the taskbar. You can get rid of it by uninstalling the Batti program.

Well all I know is that the 1.93 ROM originated from the Middle East. It'll take sometime if SIS Malaysia decides to release a newer ROM. Then again, it may not be 1.93. Could be newer or earlier version. No one knows yet.

However, we know that only 1.93 ROM solves the black icon and color problems. The rest stays the same. The speed differences is attributed from a newer revision of TouchFlo3D and the inclusion of .NET Compact Framework v3.5 which is a lot faster than v2.0. I do think that 1.93 ROM solves some graphical artifact problem.

I won't urge everyone to upgrade although the improvements are enough to make you do so. This is because it involves risk unless you understand thoroughly what you're doing and why you're doing it. Those who're not sure or want to risk their new Touch Diamonds have good reasons to wait for SIS Malaysia to release a new ROM. I hope soon. icon_rolleyes.gif

Yes, it's from ME but it's never been released there too. It's been made available by some guys (Tom Codon is one of them) who managed to get it through back door. It's a stock ROM but not officially release...yet.

Thats because those programs were made for 320x240 (QVGA) devices. QVGA is approximately 2 times smaller than Touch Diamond's resolution which is at 640x480 (VGA). So naturally those programs would appear twice as small on our screens. You'll need the VGA version of the program.

Surprisingly a lot of games made for QVGA devices appear fine on our screen which prompts me to think that the graphics core could be doing an upscaling because I see jagged edges as a result of that.

You may try a software called "MoDaCo NoData". It will prevent auto switch to 3G/GPRS when the wifi signal is weak/lost.

OMG! I just realized that my TD has faulty home, send and left navigation buttons which can operate by putting just a little pressure on the buttons; no need to press until you hear the click sound. This also caused the alignment of buttons on the left side became higher than the buttons on the right side. No wonder the left navigation key is so stiff.
Anyone of you have such problem? Sigh...
