My wife is currently 10 weeks pregnant as confirmed by a GP clinic.
Any good gynaecologist to recommend?
I would also like to know the breakdown of various cost and charges from day 1 of pregnancy to delivery.
Feel very lost right now, we not yet visit any specialist doctor or whatsoever as yet.
Anyone who can help or advise here?

We are staying in Bandar Utama, just behind One U.
Budget wise I am not so sure, but a doctor who confirmed my wife's pregnancy recommended us to visit Damansara Specialist as it is the nearest to us.
Any comments on Damansara Specialist?
The doctor ask us to opt for either Dato Dr Siva Mohan or Dr Guna.

For budget, I do not know what should be and what to expect to spend.

Pls advise me ya...thanks a million!!!

You can also try Primanora @ TTDI... quite a famous celebrity female gynae dato there. For normal checkup is at TTDI but delivery would be at Pantai Bangsar. That place is a 1 stop center for woman checkups other than pregnancy. They have 4D ultrasound facility too.

If you are thinking to go private for checkups and delivery, you have to prepare about RM10k to RM20k (counting checkups). No one can give you exact figure cause delivering a baby has too many variables. Eg. Normal delivery, Normal delivery + Epidural, Normal delivery + Vacuum, Normal delivery + Emergency Operation, etc etc etc.

Some info that i want to share with all of you especially those are looking for baby monitoring 'stuff'.

Im using this software (for iPhone & Android Phone) and its help smile.gif

user posted image

Sources:BabyPhone Deluxe

"BabyPhone Deluxe outperforms the common baby monitors on the market in a lot of situations: broad coverage, mobility of the parents, voice quality, two way communications and an additional Recorder. You will have more freedom, save money and still care perfectly for your baby.

user posted image

BabyPhone Deluxe works like a standard baby monitor: just switch on the application and place your mobile close to your sleeping baby. It will call the configured phone number when a sound exceeds an adjustable level. You can hear your baby AND on top also calm the baby over the loudspeaker. To make sure that your child is fine you can initiate the call from the configured phone number and the mobile next to your child will pick it up.

user posted image

With the BabyRecorder you can record all sounds your baby makes, as well as ambient noise. You will know how often your baby coughs in the night, or what it is babbling or singing about in the morning before you wake up. You can even export the recordings and save them in your family archives!"

But still, dont put all our responsible to a machine smile.gif

Hi icon_rolleyes.gif
is it good to use mobile phone and place it near your baby?as we know the mobile phone generated radio wave that might be dangerous if exposed to your baby. Wondering is it the good idea for the child growth hmm.gif

Hi all, I'm pregnant with a 9 weeks baby now and have gained 3kg.. the baby is only 1.5cm.. is this normal? I've been craving for all sorts of snacks the whole day.. I can have 2 pcs of gardenia bread with peanut butter at 8am, craving for food at 11am.. take fruits, sometimes chocolate/corn flakes, lunch at 12pm of rice/noodles, craving for more foods ard 3pm.. I know I should not be eating this much.. but I'm always craving... are you all experiencing these?

Besides, I feel numbness on my hand when I'm holding my computer mouse for more than 5 mins.. why is that so? I checked thru the internet it says its quite normal and its due to the fluid retention.. but I dont really know what is it..

Hi All,

I have an irregular menstruation since teenage, about 4-5 times / year only. The gap between each period is about 3-4 months ( Not fix).

My last period was 18-Jan then i tested pregnancy test kit on 20-Feb (Result : negative), again I tested on 25-Mar ( Result : Positive).

However, the Doc. cannot tell how many weeks of the baby because my period is not fix.

Question here:
1) Any other method to count how old is the baby besides using menstruation calendar.
2) If cannot count, how to predict my delivery date? I do not want to waste my 2 months MTL just to wait for the baby come out.
3) Any good gyne at Klang area. ( GH Klang? GH Banting? or private Pantai? Sri Kota? )

Thanks & Regards,

Hi all, I'm having 5 weeks pregnancy now. It is my first pregnancy!!! icon_rolleyes.gif

I would like to share my experience with Klinik Pakar Wanita Loh ( located at same row with King Crab, PJ). This is my first time ever visit after GP confirmed my pregnancy yesterday.

I went to see Dr Loh Khee Feei today in the evening. He were out when hubby & I arrived there at 6.15pm. He returned from outside around 20 minutes later. There was 2 couples waiting after me.

Overall, he seems to be a bit impatient & wanted to finish the process fast. At the beginning, I told him I'm pregnant and at the same time I'm having CHICKEN POX ( Yes, it's chicken pox!!! shocking.gif ). He asked a few question about food & medication allergy, then he did vagina scan as he said my baby is still very small. We were very excited to see the small little cute dot appears on the screen. (Life is so amazing isn't?! thumbup.gif )

After that, doctor asked me don't have to worry much on the chicken pox matter because I'm on the early stage on pregnancy, it only will have 1-2% to affect the baby ( Congenital Varicella Syndrome). He advised to visit him 2 weeks later to check whether the baby is ok or not. He also mentioned every pregnancy will have it's own risk with or without chicken pox, it's all destiny. He asked us to pray everything is fine on the baby. Any problem will only can be diagnose after 20 weeks of pregnancy. I initiate to asked him what kind of food to avoid. ( He didn't advise what are the Do's & Don'ts sad.gif ).

At last, we came out from the doctor's room, the receptionist asked me to weight, then she recorded it. (Btw, she only understand simple English, better speak Malay with her, she is quite friendly). My bill was RM100 include consultation + vagina scan + Folic Acid + Vitamin B.

Anyone of you also visit the same clinic? Mind to share as well ?! Price of RM100 is it consider reasonable ?! blush.gif

( Hope my baby is strong enough to immune to the chicken pox virus...hehe~ rolleyes.gif )

Baby's length, I think you should check with the doctor. If he/she says it's okay, then don't worry about it..

Craving is part and parcel of being pregnant. If you are that health-concious, maybe you can go for fruits, keep a few apples around you, maybe?

The numbness.. hmm.. I am not too sure about that, cos I never experienced it.. if it is that worrying, maybe you can mention it to your doctor during your next check-up..

Good luck..

Chicken pox if contracted by the pregnant mom in early pregnancy is okay.. Like your doctor said, very little chance of the baby being infected as well. Here are some info on chicken pox while pregnant...

And I think your RM100 check-up bill is very reasonable.

Congrats and Good Luck!

Hi! My wife is on 17th weeks now. We are in China now but planning to deliver in Klang

1&2) From gynae in china, baby actual "age" can be updated on each check-up. Especially with baby size, can gauge baby "age". Predicted delivery date can be 50% accurate only.

3)I also like to know any recommendation for gynae in Klang... Pls let me know if u got updated.
