i am sure the bulb didnt pecah
i was watching BD half way and work at the same time
so occasionally head turns to watch a bit then continue working.
i didnt hear any breaking sound , the screen just went black and the lamp doesnt seems to light on anymore
when i try to power on it , there is clicking sound as if the HD65 trying to turn it self on.
hopefully i can get back mine asap since holiday coming and i have lots of sealed BD since early August.

Okok, thanks for the info bro.

Bro one quick question.

For building a 106" Diagonal screen, the measurement is 92"x52", so will it be sufficient if i buy a 94"x54" screen? If not how big shud i need ar?

94"x54" only USD39.99

108"x54" is USD44.99

112"x60" is USD49.99 can build up to 115" screen hehe.

All Bros, need ur input on this. Need to buy the screen soon biggrin.gif

i'd suggest buy larger screen coz an allowance of only 1" on the edges to tension the material might get tricky.

Hmm, then might as well get the biggest one. 112"x60". Price difference not great but gives me option to go for bigger screen next time biggrin.gif

Wah, hope this really is not a trend man. Scary...

I wonder why the seller states 54"x94" screen as 102" diagonal view. If i build it on a 106" (52"x92") i'll still have 2" all around the screen to fix onto the frame right?

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=851041 ... lets keep our fingers crossed that hd65 is not like optoma hd72 that so many users in avs claimed have a design flaw and affected so many of them... the good thing is from the 3 pj reported here all 3 have diff problems so maybe just bad luck.. for hd72 almost all the users with problem had the same problem

Canot jump to conclusions yet until more similar cases appear. So far LYN only 2 cases of bulb pecah and 1 case power auto-off(maybe due to heat problem?)

And IIRC no mention of such cases in AVForum and AVSForum. biggrin.gif

No worries, shud be ok wan. Worst case claim warranty lah. biggrin.gif

My 1st symptoms is like Rx's uncle PJ . auto shutdown but later can power on.
Well i got no complain abt optoma service . They r pretty fast and efficient evnthough they r doing demo somewhere , they still make effort to collect it and try to return to me within 3 days. My room is fully air conditioned almost 18 hours a day ( bro and frens usually gaming in my room after skool ) so heat problem is definitely out . They told me this is a small problem and not that rare mostly probably short circuit ( which i failed to understand as my place is fully protected by surge protector and power conditioner) . I really appreciate vismart / optoma for the fast and prompt reply .

I think it's not short circuit. It's power surge. Sometimes when the power supply is not 'clean' it might affect the bulb. I read somewhere it's advisable to connect the PJ to an AVR (voltage regulator) to ensure smooth power supply, same for PC. Power surge can damage harddisk. Better still buy an UPS, so that in the event of power failure, still got backup battery and won't damage the PJ biggrin.gif

Glad to hear optoma service is good, at least it's an assurance for the consumers biggrin.gif

Hopefully they can fix your problem soon.. for my case i was 100 percent satisfied with vismart's service.. but i still hope angkong will pohpee my pj and wont breakdown again... i saw the hd72 problem b4 i even used my hd65.. so i followed all the extreme guidelines from optoma avsforum

1) make sure enuf air circulation around pj (my aircon was blowing directly at pj)
2) do not use over 8 hours at 1 go
3) do not restart within 8 hour after shutting down
4) do not move the pj around when the bulb is still hot ( some claimed even slight knocks will damage the bulb when its hot)

my bulb paucah below 100hours at the end.. so i think just bad luck

I heard shutting down means power off totally right? Meaning i can put it on standby and power it on again right? within the time period? If not after 30 mins, accidentally switch off then have to wait 8hrs mar jia lat? hehe.

reading back the avs thread, the optoma tech guy actually said kenot move it within 5min nia after shutting down.. but he did say kenot say kenot turn it on within 8 hours after shutting down .. need to wait till the bulb has totally cooled down.. wonder y 8 hours so extreme
