The mark setter is necessary for water decal la. If not, the decal will peel off right after it dried up.

i usually don't have much trouble with decal made by reputable company. unless those very old decals..
my comment: if u find urself applying the decals without trouble, don't have to use lar..
but of course it's almost a good idea to have a bottle at home, standby in case of bad luck biggrin.gif

it will still stick even without mark setter..i mean for water slide decal

i use mark setter not cause it make the decal stick...but it make your decal melt with the plastic nicely and make it looks like been painted on instead of being paste it on...well that is my way of using mark setter la

dunno about too long in the water...but usually i let it float for a while only and didnt wait till the decal been separate from the blue paper itself only take the decal out from water...

and also sinanju is the only mg i do in glossy and most of other are flat...

no doubt applying decan and do paneling are easy if you gloss coat them...but seriously i never experience peel off on flat coat surface before if i never use setter...

decal become yellow got la...damn samuel doh.gif

i did experience few decal from bandai not stick properly due to left it at the water too long expecially the small warning sign but it can be solved it with mark setter + top coat.

get bandai ones better and easier to use... i've seen them for sale in both time machine, the TCG shop next to grafitti and AF Hobby. Around RM20 each.
Alternatively, order online from HLJ.

Added on April 15, 2009, 4:42 pmthe shop is exactly facing jln loke yew (the fly over across jln sg. besi).
if u enter fraser biz center fr jln tun razak/jln sg. besi it will be harder to find.
but if u enter Fraser biz center once u exit from the loke yew/jln sg.besi roundabout, it's very obvious once u turn in.

Actually for custom made water slide decal (eg u want to put your own name on your kit) Hobbies Corner's boss Mr Lam (aka oldman) also can do.

If u want his phone number, pm me.

For shops where u can walk in n buy instantly, try time machine, af hobby. I think aunty place also got.
But shops' selection might not be that big.

As for mark settler problem, no i dont find applying decal without settler the decal will fall off. Like Vince said, i use settler to furthur enhance the finishing n outcome of the decal.

All this extra material n tools r for the next level enhancement for quality
