Hap Seng group managing director Edward Lee Ming Foo said: “Even excluding the gain from the listing of Hap Seng Plantations and other non-operating items, the group recorded a notable 93% rise in profit after tax.”

It proposed a final dividend of seven sen per share less tax. This, in addition to the interim dividend of 3.5 sen per share less tax paid on Oct 26, 2007, a special interim dividend of 41 sen per share less tax and a tax exempt dividend of five sen paid on Dec 14, 2007, will bring the total dividend for the year to 56.5 sen per share.

Guys,

does it mean that dividend yield base on today's price is 56.5/275 (RM2.75@todays' price) = 20.5% gross?!?!?!?!

correct calculation?

Gov. Increase commision for petrol station operator right?

So shouldn't Petronas Dagangan Bhd benefit from this recent move?

Should not take special dividend into account. So it's 56.5 - 41 = 15.5 sens dividend

So about 5.6% dividend yield based on latest price.

it did adjust from yesterday's closing 2.72 to today's open price 2.65.
People are grabbing because it became cheaper after price adjust.

I am expecting to see some selldown in the market tomorrow smile.gif
I think it is time for me to pick up a bit tomorrow.
What would be your strategy? To buy tomorrow or wait to buy on Monday? I think there should be another minor drop on Monday.

Your prediction fulfilled!
DJIA slumped 358.41 to 11453.42. The lowest since Sept 2006.
Time to stay sideline first. All long term MA line has been broken. Still plenty to drop. ohmy.gif

It's been a while since DJIA drop so nicely. While KLCI has more or less sort of de-coupled from the effects due to our own political issues, it sure will be hard not to follow the crowd on this one.

Gosh!!! Anyone knows what is wrong with YTLPower? Its price has been beaten down from RM2.50 to RM1.90!!! My only guess is that the fuel price hike, the potential IPP contract renegotiation might affect their earning. Other that that what other news is affecting it?

Gosh! I saw my profit *puff* gone!!! Just sold it at RM1.90 for some McD chicken foldover.

Added on June 27, 2008, 9:33 amOh, BTW, is there a way for us to check which company bought back the most of their share? And also which counter normally practice giving back their treasury share to shareholders? Well, I like YTLPower cos now I have 1000 free units in YTLPower though I have recovered my capital. I will leave it there to grow 'golden eggs' in the long long long term. smile.gif

So I am looking for another counter to try my luck.

Under Bursa's website, you can check under Share Buybacks to see all the companies which have bought back shares for the day.
I don't know though how we can see which company gives back their shares to shareholders except for the annual report.
