Anyone care to explain why Genting is being affected so much? I thought Genting gambling business are suppose to be unaffected as desperate people tend to gamble more.... I had almost half my portfolio in genting but it is for long term investment... But looking at the counter really scare me...

In the Star Biz today, TNB CEO say tariff increase would have neutral impact to its cash position. So tenaga is not making more money from this tariff increase. I think the share wouldn't jump further already. Or will it??

Seems like our looming inflation is cause more by policies change rather than supply demand inbalance. But will investing more in good stock able to cushion this type of inflation? I think people might spend more now to buy something physical to try to lock in their value instead of saving the money as money will no doubt depreciates more in inflation. And as inflation might cause a slower growth, shares market appreciation might be not so good as well....so which one to go? physical properties or paper properties?

QUOTE(AdamG1981 @ Jun 9 2008, 09:24 AM) Good day for bottom fishing, not to mention the flip flop govt will announce couple of measures later in the day that might boost the CI tomorrow. Or maybe govt will announce something which will bring the bottom to bottomless, then those of us who are bottom fishing will be going down and become the part of the fish of next bottom fishing.... |

QUOTE(Kenneth85 @ Jun 9 2008, 11:11 AM) "Well, there's always people who think market can sustain and willing to go in at this time. There are always people who think otherwise as well. That's the gamble they take with their believe and that's why, some become richer, some poorer. But sometimes, the stampede just too strong and even they are wrong, you still have to follow them, else just like a dead cat on the road...left only with skin.... But sometimes the momentum just cool off before the stampede begin. I am prepare to be rich. But at the same time, I am prepare to be poor as well. So now, let me be poor and cut lost. Come back again when the bear hibernate and the bull wake up. But being me, it is difficult not to take risk... haiya...very hard to make decision... Pull out, stay in, pull out stay in...okay...lets stay in n go long term..." That's why i made that decision. |

QUOTE(AdamG1981 @ Jun 9 2008, 11:39 AM) Remember the best buying opportunity is when majoriy is scared; and this only holds true with those companis with solid business models and growing sales. The problem is our Gov policies sometimes can even break solid business into a pile of rubbles. That's why I solute Gov. Gov Policies: you make money, you pay me.. You loose money, you still pay me.....Do not just FOCUS on just macroeconomics bad news, there are always winners and losers in the equities and derivatives market. |

QUOTE(AdamG1981 @ Jun 9 2008, 07:28 PM) Lehman announced USD 2.8 billion loss, plans to raised 6 billion usd in preferred, and stock sales. No details yet on the entire gameplan. Ya...had to agree with that.....well, most of the crisis starting and end will only be known after the whole episode is ended. This had happen all these while in the past, like when they analyze those recession. So it is very hard to tell when is the start-mid-ending to all of this.. When all this ended, then they will start to say, "ha, so this is what this all about..." those who bet right will say, "you see, my prediction is right" those who bet wrong will say, "pokkai lor...."Financial stocks in U.S might be worried that the credit crisis is still in the very very early stages. |
