U should check the old threads cause I'm sure it's been discussed before. Anyhow, discussions on CCs can be found here except i don't recall any discussion in this V3 thread on UOB VOX.

Thanks a lot guys. The letter instructed to register online. So I did register into the online account.

Will read it further to see on the details. Between, how do I redeem the free gift offered when applying for the card?

it's abit stupid for the bank to charge me annual fees for my gold card and they know when i call they will / can waive for me immediately. if they just send a nice simple letter to tell me they will waive it, isn't it look even better on their customer service image? haih....

not complaint, just tot it would be better. btw, it's HLB.

if u din care to call the customer service for waiver, they will get the annual fees.
imaging, 1,000 customer, only 50% of them call in to waive, another 50% annual fees is in pocket already.

The problem with banks or any other profit earning institution they wouldn't do that as it's business.
Try and imagine this scenario:
Someone has to convince the business to drop the annual fee charges.
Say got 1000 cards which the annual fee is RM100.
Thus to present the scenario, one has to tell the business the impact before and after i.e.
pre: 1,000 cards * RM100 annual fees = RM100,000 annual revenue
post: -nil- revenue in that line

So generally, how would business approve of that when you equate to banks with 700,000 card base or even 1 million card base.
Blatantly that one person is telling the bank that they're going to loose that amount of revenue if one is to scrap annual fees.
Thus the easy way out is wait for customers to come to senses to ask for waiver. As there's still some that pays their annual fees without complaining and to the bank...it's a blardy profit straight to the revenue line.
