Dont be so choosy la. Everything also wanna count till grass also die (chinese phrase). A little charge here and there for a some covinient is just a way to do business. Otherwise how would they earn money. Besides even if there's a 1% charge, does it really hurt? I bought some winter apparel in China and even with additional charges, it still ends up cheaper as the conversation rate favors us. Dont complaint too much k... give n take... there's no free lunch...

@David83,
But it doesn't state whether the Administrative Charges are applicable. Like I said, I'm no MBB Credit Card user so it's not possible for me to call to check - and haven't I oredi done enough tongue.gif

How about offerings from BSN - Al Aiman?

Emmm ... miss out that one. Still it's not free for life. Our friend is looking for both Syariah Compliant & Free For Life. I'm quite sure such card does not exist - at least not having both features.

@kapitan,
If U swiped USD5000, U will feel the 1% charge. But like U said, let the bank earn some $ - I'm not complaining. I use UOB when I travel and there's $0 charges on that tongue.gif

I found offering from Bank Islam Card-i is quite good even though not Free For Life.

About the annual fee waiver:

Annual Fee waiver for the whole contract, subject to terms & conditions: -
1. Active account means at least one (1) retail transaction, cash or balance transfer per month
2. No default in repayment

@David83,
Other banks also haf such conditions; except it's not worded as such. Well, most banks don't talk about (2) but that is known biggrin.gif

Or pay using your CIMB account - no interbank transfer fees incurred. Don't be surprised David83 - there was a time where you can't use your AMBank account to pay for your MBF card although AMBank already own MBF at that point of time.

However, I sense that AMBank is treating MBF like a stepson coz back then my CL need to be approved by AMBank (weird huh?) for my MBF cc. Unfortunately for AMBank, MBF cc is the more well known brand than the AMBank cc. MBF got additional charges for overseas use (I think 2%) and CS was bad - my primary reasons for canceling this card back then.

Thanks for the tips. I have no interest over MBF CC.

Merely gathering information for a friend who asked me about MBF CC.

I know MBF CC doesn't gain favour in this thread. All I read and remembered are bad experiences.

I still remember...2 years ago... I called up to ask for annual fee waiver...(their stupid gold card annual fee is 200++) mad.gif

the CS said.. sorry sir, we can't waived for u...

then I said: how come? all other banks all waived for me already leh...

the CS said... because we are not bank, we are only credit financial institution..bla bla bla... but the best we can offer is by giving you a 50% off ur annual fee...

then guess wat i said?

u r correct! "Just Cancel the Card...." laugh.gif

@kapitan,
Of course! Because sometimes U spend that kind of $ onli because U didn't bring sufficient cash to purchase something tongue.gif

Like I said, I'm not the one who's complaining about the Admin charges though I think banks shouldn't burden us with it. If some banks can do it FOC, Y can't the rest do it too?

In US, the credit card industry is facing:

Credit scores hit by card limits

Credit-card lenders lower borrowing levels, which hurts consumers' credit scores

NEW YORK (AP) -- Just as Americans grow more reliant on credit cards to help pay monthly bills, they're being hit with a one-two punch: Card companies are reducing borrowing limits for tens of thousands of consumers, which then can lead to lower credit scores.
