HSBC may not be the first CC that I owned but definately tops the rest. My classic starts ar 5k limit and I request them to increase it cos Im busy shopping for wedding last month and they doubled it. It make me cancelled all my other cards from AMBB, MBB, and such.

Then comes CITIBANK. After seeing my HSBC classic 10k limit, they approve a GOLD card for me for 13k. I had to say these 2 are the craziest banks in Malaysia. My salary just 3k nia. They not scared meh? Previously asked HSBC to tempo increase but no such option, so no choice. But Citibank is like crazy. Now I realised how one of my friend managed to get himself a Citibank Gold Card and end up with RM25k of CC debt excluding another 30k debt in personal loan.

If you want a fast way to hell, Citibank will present you one.

Yesterday I went to OCBC to help my company pay monthly installment for lorry H/P. When I got there, there was this lady who stop me to asking me which credit card that Im using. To my surprise, OCBC is having a promotion where if you own a gold card from any bank, they will offer you a Platinum card BUT you have to do a balance transfer. LOL... its funny how they always stop someone who's wearing working attire but never if you wear t-shirt and short pant.

Not to mentioned that to went from classic -> gold -> platinum in 3months. They gotta be desperate. Thinking of cancelling my Citibank card after my Korea trip early next year. I still prefer HSBC by miles. They hardly call me when I didnt pay. Its just that they keep charging me late payment fee which I dont really care at all. The only time when I got a call was when I increase my limit to 9.5k and broke it in 3 days. The best thing is that I got an account with them and I can pay by telling them to deduct from my account. CIMB (SBB) never allow me to do that lastime even though I got an account with them.

Need to do balance transfer ah?
I also got this card, gold card.
Every month also got rebate even though I didnt carry forward any balance.
Quite good if you consider it.

If you spent around 10k each year using it on petrol and purchases, you can save at least RM100++ each year. My HSBC card spent 10k only gets 10,000 points and it can only exchange RM50 coupon. I think this serve quite well especially when you are using Gold card.

Yeah, I think I mistaken liao.
I checked back their site, the shape is same with the Titanium one. Why the sales gal say Platinum then? Blur blur...

I thought we can have same standard card for both master and visa. Lastime seen my friend get two from Citibank but the bad thing is that it has share credit limit. However, I heard from the Citibank Call Center that we can have more than 1 card. Like Shell Gold Card and Normal Gold Card. Thats because I got the Shell gold card but unable to purchase the DVD player which is offered to nomal Gold card. The gal said that I need to sent my salary slip to confirm that my salary exceed RMxxxx (cant remember but quite high) then only can apply. The bad thing about Citibank is that once you get the card, and you wanted to change to another type, she said need 6 months before they will approve another card even if you cancel the current one. What a turn off...

BTW do you guys really use credit card so much that it really matters?

I really seldom use my card except for Petrol and Maintenance which usually claim from company. For groceries, seldom buy pass RM200 and found it troublesome to use CC as you can see most of the slow queue in Carrefour/Jusco/Giant is due to too many buyer using CC even though they bought less than RM100.

@kapitan,
A few of us apparently are cashless people tongue.gif

Dont say you dont $$$!!!

Maybe its just me. I like the convinient but not the trouble (queue, signature, SIM reader error).
Sometimes when buying by cash, if balance left less than 20cents, I will walk off even though the cashier keep calling me.

As long as you pay, I dont think Shell card is scam. It does pay u rebate even if you didnt carry forward any amount.

Not only Citibank la.
HSBC called me yesterday wanna offer me Gold card upgrade.
Explained hella lot of things and lastly the balance insurance... I just told her that I pay every month and my limit is more than enough. Planning to cancel my Citibank card next... HSBC has been more friendly. I hate Citibank call center has to enter tonnes of numbers while HSBC just press twice enough liao.

@Syd G,
Yes give HSBC a call and check if they can offer u a waiver biggrin.gif

@StarJump,
Citibank-Giant card was oredi spoken about earlier in the morning; just go back a couple of pages tongue.gif

Well, I enquire about that last month.
The girl said that as long as you use your classic card 12times a year we will waive it (I guess they will when you asked for it). Even supplementary card also can waive which is even better. I really got no complaints for HSBC except that stupid security code device that always give wrong number nia.

@Syd G,
Actually, I think the bank makes a certain percentage of commission; the winner is probably still the insurance co ? biggrin.gif

Anyhow, I somehow think i'd been 'delisted' cause for the so many years they been trying, I just decline biggrin.gif

@kapitan,
If it's a free upgrade, take onli lah unless U want to keep that existing card.  Like me, I wanted to keep my existing Citibank Clear Card hence decline every other upgrade they offer biggrin.gif

Except this card is no longer giving me as much benefits as it used to! *geram*

Nah, I think its fun to keep a Classic card dont you think?
Ppl like to flash Gold card to show off. Its fun when your Classic card limit matches their, dont u think?

I think you guys(girls) misunderstood how Kutu works. Its actually a scheme that can earn money. It gives out around 10% interest if you play by the rules. It actually include bidding for the money, so not too suitable if whole group also rich people.

My boss does join a Kutu group organised by our competitors. Well, it sound strange but the whole group are all competitors cos we are all Steel trader but business aside are friends. Since our business require huge amount of money movement, sometimes a little installment plan wont hurt. Its easier than to take a loan from banks. So usually the organiser is the one who earn money (interest) cos he's farking rich but have nowhere to spend. Whereas we were using this as a quick way to a pile of cash in needy times.

Dont be so choosy la. Everything also wanna count till grass also die (chinese phrase). A little charge here and there for a some covinient is just a way to do business. Otherwise how would they earn money. Besides even if there's a 1% charge, does it really hurt? I bought some winter apparel in China and even with additional charges, it still ends up cheaper as the conversation rate favors us. Dont complaint too much k... give n take... there's no free lunch...

I would say crap as if you have no hesitant to spend USD5000, will you feel pain for USD50...

Business is business. One's meat might be another's poison. Simple as that. Nothing to add anymore.
