Why she tell u something tat not related to ur request?

It is because I was asking other questions which is would I be charged for annual fee if I apply MBB Amex credit card now.

Previously, I rejected MBB Amex the application because they wanted to charge me annual fee as soon as I received the card.

@jeff_ckf,
Citibank is suppose to get an Officer to revert back to me; it would take them 2 working days [I did ask Y it would take 2 working days to answer something they can answer on the spot and all i got was an apologetic sorry] so I guess we'll just haf to wait and see what they say.

@TeraPox,
Y? U suddenli terasa?! shocking.gif

@David83,
MBB Amex Credit Card has a 2 year annual waiver now whilst the MBB Amex Charge card gets 1 year annual waiver. It is not applicable to the Platinum category.

I also asked if there's any ongoing promotion and she said no.

She said that my application will be treated as card add on application and not as new card application.

@David83,
I don't know about that but when I checked @ 1U's Maybankard Centre, I was given the above information. Obviously the difference is that I'm not an existing Maybank CC holder.

I also know that if U oredi haf 2 MBB CCs and apply for the 3rd, U will get the annual fee waived on the 3rd card.

Good point you have raised out. The staff also checked that with the card centre and apparently, my MBB Petronas card doesn't consider as 2nd card since there's no annual fee for life.

Previously I have MBB CC, then I "add-on" MBB Amex CC, they still give me 2 yrs AF waiver. However, I applied at MBB TP fair @MV 2 yrs ago.

Can be linked in a sense that you could use your CIMB saving accoun to pay your DA bill using CIMBClicks.

I some how feel CIMB system is cacat cause they cant link all your accounts under one internet user ID. They told me their user ID is unique for each card issued by them. So how I have 2 CIMB internet login. One is for my savings while another is for my credit card. But I still able to view all my accounts info thru any of the login. But if I would like to transfer funds or pay my CC, I need to login to my savings internet login only can do so.

This is MALAYSIA and I don't wanna waste my time and effort on this.

At least my other banks (MBB, RHB, PB) can like all my accounts under one internet login...

Simple ... whatever you are paying in the foreign currency just convert in back into the local amount based on rates on the transaction date - you can use XE to calculate this amount. This provides you with an indicate amount of the charges. (The actual conversion rates are set by Mastercard/VISA international, so they may be slight variation from XE's rates)

Just add on the additional charges and there you go. Check out the 1st post for details on the additional charges for overseas transaction + which bank/card is better @ this.

There's 2 dates to look @ if you were to refer to your bill. Transaction date & posted date - I suspect the calculations is based on the posted date rather than the transaction date but I'm not sure about this. Posted date is more often than not - a few days later than the transaction date.

I remember Maybank having its TP fair in Penang sometime July last year. Does anyone know is Maybank going to have another TP fair in Penang this year??

I'm going to apply another Maybankard - Amex credit card. Was attracted by its 2x forever TP, including petrol purchase, etc.
Furthermore, on-the-spot redemption is awesome, can save a lot of TPs rclxm9.gif

@danlhct,
U don't need to wait till a TP Fair to put in ur application for a MBB Amex Credit Card. Like I said, there's a 2 year waiver off anual fees for this card currently [NA for Platinum]

@arsenal,
Conversion rate is the same throughout all banks as it follows the international exchange rate at point of purchase.

@hye,
I believe the exchange is calculated on date of transaction. HK Disneyland has a rather 'canggih' system which converts HKD into MY immediately - U will know exactly how much ur paying in MY when U sign on the docket.

Yeah, last year I swipe my card in HK Disneyland. The bill straightaway in MYR. Canggihnya!
No administration charges was imposed by the bank for such overseas transaction since it is in MYR laugh.gif

@danlhct,
I don't know if there were administration charges <perhaps it was built in oredi?> but yeah, like U.. I was pretti impressed too. I thought that was the norm in HK but when I got out of Disneyland, I realised it was onli available @ Disneyland! tongue.gif

Still... I think all merchants should implement such a system smile.gif
