let me explain with an example. With current salary, assume some1 can get credit limits of 8k for the first card.

then... he wants the second card with higher credit limit... So, he just put maybe 12K at the new card application form.

Assuming the new bank is unable to verify the info. then, a new card with 12k credit might be issued to him.

If you always swipe until 90% of your current card CL and pay promptly before due date, in a few months time, you can always request them to upgrade your current CL. They will be pleased to do that.

@TeraPox,
I doubt I'll want to utilise the priority lounges if I had to pay a fee. The benefit is to be able to utilise it with no additional charges.

@hye,
I don't haf so much $ to become Privilege Banker @ every other bank tongue.gif Looks like I will sit this one out since the Priority Pass just gives access; with payment needed upon usage. I should perhaps check out the EON Bank Card then *grins* Then again, I don't mind sitting at McD's whilst waiting for my AirAsia flight ! *grins*

@pisang,
I thought banks knew exactly how much CL ur other credit cards have - thought it was centralised in their system. That way, they're able to gauge total credit risk. Anyhow, I don't see a reason for U to have to lie to ur bank. U could always request for a higher CL.

@kons,
That theory isn't proven.

@TeraPox,
Standard Chartered's Visa Platinum will give u that Priority Pass access but U will need to pay to get in. I assume it is free with EON Bank's Platinum cards?

Ah well, I don't travel that much but it would be great to have one... I've got access to KLIA's Priority Lounge through Citibank but I don't believe that's extended to the LCCT lounge. Anyhow, ain't travelling until Oct but that's with a whole bunch of people and through LCCT....

I just want to get my hands on the MBB Amex though except I find it too troublesome if I have to send them my bank statements, and BE forms and etc etc.

@TeraPox,
I never said it was difficult to obtain, I just find it troublesome. I was invited by Amex once a couple of years ago but I didn't need it then so I declined the invitation. Now, I feel I don't want to go on using Citibank as my primary card and thus far it looks like MBB Amex gives out pretty good benefits hence am opting for that smile.gif

@TeraPox,
I took that into consideration but when I asked the Maybank officer earlier, she tells me if U haf good payment record and if U use that card as your primary card, U probably be able to call for a waiver.

why do u want to terminate your card? having 2 cards isn't that much...

well, in terms of point benefit, MBB is great... every 16500 point u can get 100 vouchers from Parkson or jusco... that's consider high return looo...

HSBC is oso good card issuer.. they have quite a number of benefit from time to time...

keep both la..

If you want to keep MBB, before terminating, you should change your Auto Debit to be attached to your MBB CC first. After that, your headache will be lesser.
