I wonder how you guys can oc so much =/ My temp of my GPU without OC already 50/85 when case closed. 50/75 with case open. And 50/77 with case closed but with PCI blower and cardboard to direct the heat out to the back.

What is the max and stable OC status for my MSI 9600GSO-OC?

Default clocks are 600/900/1500

Take note that i didnt overclock also reach 90C for crysis, but that's also because i am playing later stage, where all the smoke, lighting come to heavy(snowy weather)...not to mention when it's good weather at the island, it's already reaching 80C...

For your information(not being offensive), this thread is for galaxy card....u suggest u to find a MSI thread and ask them, cos different manufacturer different material, so u cannot just ask and compare like this...u can also try urself, and try benchmarking and see got artifact a not, but asking here is just not the suitable solution for u

Hmm... So I wonder how those guys can OC until so high. Maybe it's 3rd party coolers after all. I find the cooler in OC one not good enough =/

no lar...u must know, US weather lower then us here, then when winter comes, it's like using water cooling because of the cold weather there...

I still think something is wrong with your card LOL. It's way too hot for stock voltage and freq. 80C is for modded BIOS or stock?
What program do you use to monitor the temp? What's the ambient temp?

U can try it by urself. Use Rivatuner or MSI's own software.

i have noticed now i had only 6memchip galaxy 9600gso oc and the new one had 6 chip too
so that was the cause i couldnt mod my card

is the unused shadders linked do unused memory controller? so thath is the cause why cant unlock the shadders/rops with 6 memchip gso cards? or they are not linked and another thing is the shadders and the memory controller tweak?
IF the second one is the true why cant turn on the shadders/rops?

the amount of ram unlocked (512mb) is already diff..so no chance

I don't know if they laser cut the gpu or not...but if it is still the same as ours, probably u can wait for Rivatuner to support G92 nvstrap (now only supports up to G80) to unlock it (highly doubtful though).

yeah. i am waiting for new rivatuner but i dont know it could help.if the memory controller and the shadders are linked then no chance to unlock the shadders. if they are not linked in architecture then there is a chance, but in this case this bios mod should enable the shadders/rops even the memory still 384MB?
so i affraid the new rivatuner wont help me

Lol...Doubt that will make any difference la... Maybe a 2 or 3 degrees in differences only. Plus if u rip out their stock cooler, you usually void the warranty..am i right ppl?

Gosh i wanted to get 9600GSO OC Galaxy this coming monday but upon hearing the 6 memory chip i'm begining to be doubtful.... i'm from penang and this and the man selling it to me has to order from kl...sigh ... some 1 convince me to get it and if there is still any chance for it to overclock. Oh yeah... and 1 question. What if i use an asus mobo to refresh the bios and than plug it back into another mobo....does it still have any chance in remaing as a 512Mb ? thanks all.

ZZzzz...I o/c my card already running 700/1000 24/7 at 41c wahhaha...no sweat at all. Running almost on par with none o/c 8800gt. but the price >drool<.

Don't expect so much la. This card is economy card. Not performance card.

Ehh can show me 3dmark06 of 4850 or not? if difference is only 1-2k score, dunnit waste time upgrade la..cannot feel the difference one.. unless you buy some card that can hit 18k -20k 3dmark06 then it's worth upgrade to notice and feel the difference.

don look at 3dmark la.. look at realtime performance.
