Hi,
I have been busy playing with the 901 now with 2GB, it is just awesome.
Reinstall with
TinyXP09 with Drivers SP3 (No Swap Files)
MS Office 2003 Custome Install
Messenger Live 8.0
IE 7.0
Windows Media 11
ffdshow Codec
Real Alternative
Quick Alternative
Adobe Reader 8
ACDSee 8
FlashXP (Geat FTP)
Firefox 3.0
Google Earth
Garmin MapSource with MalSingMaps
Garmin NRoute (I pair with my Garmin and I can route)
Sonic PDF Maker (A low cost PDF maker)
Able2Extract 5.0 (Convert PDF to Word / Excel)
RAM Drive (128MB Drive R for Temp Files)
C: Drive free space = 1.48GB
D: Drive nothing install just a bunch of video and mp3
Now all 901 users should go to
http://www.elantech.com.tw/download.aspx to download their verison of touch pad. The multi touch drives install by Asus installer does not have as much feature as the manufacturer version. I guess Asus does not want to be sued by Apple with their zoom feature when you split your fingers. Or use 3 fingers and move up to open up my computer. The multi touch is just AWESOME. Does the 900 have the multi touch feature ?
With 5 hours battery life and if you keep you XP clean IMHO it sure beat any C2D that I have come across that came loaded with tons of useless utility that slows down the boot up time and windows xp performance. Well my EEEPC 901 with the above installed boots in 50 seconds with the first 10 second for the BIOS.
Well I am happy and planning to get a Maxis USB Broadband 3G soon.
Jackdon.
