can the notebook be used with external 2.5" hdd 320gb? im worried the usb might be insufficient to power up the drive.

"Whole-Day" eeePC battery coming out later this year?

Taiwanese industry and rumor site DigiTimes is reporting (without citing a source) that ASUS expects to deliver "whole-day" battery options to its Eee PC range of netbooks. In addition, ASUS also plans to offer some level of Internet storage, apparently beyond the 20GB they already offer to new Eee PC 901 and 1000 owners -- a move that we hope will become a trend amongst netbook providers in order to offset the miniscule flash drives found inside the lowest of the low-cost, mini laptops. Both changes are expected before the year is up. Incredibly, ASUS also plans to push out new software and hardware upgrades every month to "fill gaps in the netbook market."

seems i can remove the 2nd SSD and exchange with the 1.8" 30gb hdd. is it really that simple?

does the battery drain only affects 701 and 900 machines? any 901 or 1000 users having battery drain prob?

if u charge the battery of 701 and 900 to 100%, turn the machine off for a day - the battery will indicate about 90%. so if u left it unused for several days.. the battery will drop abt 10% a day (on average). not sure if this happens to 901 and 1000 machines though.

power stuff.. always been tempted by 901 but the chrome design turned me off. hehe. anyway, waiting for lenovo netbook to appear in sept. eeenjoy ur eeepc901

fully charge ur battery and then take it out when u use the AC. legend has it that this will prolong the battery life. altho this is not proven.

i have a toshiba hitachi 1.8" 30gb external hdd + casing. bought 2-3 months ago from a seller here for RM80. since i have got a 320gb hdd now, im selling this item for RM50. i tot of keeping it for 900 but dun see it happen now. PM me if interested. prefer COD only.

doubt it. unless ur unit is those old model 901 with zif connector. 900 im sure got cos got SLC and MLC (replace MLC with the 1.8" drive).

kinda doubt this unit will be sold here. everywhere i look it's only 1000H..

dun see why not. however, heard the modem is big and definitely not portable (nationwide access required?).

any1 heard any news on 904 coming to our shores?
