no 901 yet in malaysia. I asked asus already. they will only bring in 901 in august onwards. Maybe can buy at Pc fair II.

I am now running Windows Media player 11, RAM is still at 1GB. Playing songs in a loop, screen always on and will report how long it goes before it switch off.

Yesterday I had redone it with T*nyXP without added drivers, install Acrobat Reader 8.0, FFDShows, Real Alternative, Quick Alternative, MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint/Access), IE7, WM11, ACDSee 9.0 and all the Asus utliity. OH Yah I install RAM Disk and set tmp, temp and internet explorer temp files to there, turn off Swap files.

WOW I am liking this, it is pretty quick. Well now I got to get a 2GB RAM.

Here is the power meter from Windows in Power Saving Mode and High Performance mode.

With T*nyXP I have a smaller OS Foot Print and I do not read Chinese leh.

It is definately in high color and running Media Player Classic I can play any xvid / divx movie with no frame drop. Will testout with the Microsoft High Defination Sample later today.

ahhh I know why because I did a screen capture then put into word than I copy and paste into windows paint. Hmm must get a decent photo editing software.

Battery life test still going on, now 2 hours 15 mins running 1024 x 600 - high color / Windows Media Player 11 playing mp3 songs with no screen saver.

Windows Battery Meter still showing 50% 2hr 28min left.

Hmmm... that is pretty decent.

nope.. it will be around 1.9-2k.

hopefully the 1000H will push the price of the 901 down lo ... =)

if im not mistaken, 1000H will come earlier than eeepc 901.

the main reason asus malaysia did this is to clear all eeepc 900 stock first before they release 901.

i wonder why they launch eeepc 900 and then.. 3 weeks later eeepc 901... why not launch eeepc 901 straight away. really unfair for those who bought eeepc 900

they mark up the price.... i got from dealer 1699, but then 1 of the computer shop wanna sell me at 1799.

not really la.. for us who just need for online purpose, need to travel a lot, 900 is our dishes... i dun need faster processor with heavier weight (900 = 0.99, 901 = 1.2 (if not mistaken)). somemore more expensive...

but if the price of 900 go down because of 901 come, then that's a bit unfair lor.

I have order 900 from S'pore and it comes with 30GB & XP installed.
Price around S$700.

The dealer claimed this's a special edition in order to clear stock for 900 before there starts selling 901.

The dealer will call me by next week for the collection arrangement.

That is a pretty good price if it is SSD, if it is 30GB HDD the the battery life would drop further and that is not good.

wahhh 5 hours sounds very very good ....

will the 30gb hdd cause alot of difference in the battery life? as compared with the normal edition( 12gb/20gb )
