I would suggest that you make a big complain outta it on the report. Ask for new components etc. Who knows? You might get lucky.

Just had my motherboard replaced too due to the faulty GPU. Anyway my experience was I requested for a new board with a new revision and to check my CPU temperature problem (replace if necessary) but the technician brought a refurbished board with an old revision A00 even after confirming with me before he came to my place (I can even see the GPU had a bad solder job with marks on the motherboard). The CPU problem was totally forgotten/ignored and when I showed my temperature to the technician he asked me to make another report. After everything was done (technician left), I found that the laptop was not even anymore (the laptop rocks just like a chair on an uneven ground). The technician even accidentally hit the heatsink on the RAMs and the plastic cover causing thermal paste getting smudged all over the RAM chips and bottom cover (he wiped the cover but left the RAMs alone). Conclusion is I'm not happy at all with the service.

strongly advise to call back dell to inform not happy with the engineer service that "accidentally hit the heatsink on the RAMs and the plastic cover causing thermal paste getting smudged all over the RAM chips and bottom cover".

according to Dell Term & Condition, customer do not have the full right to request new components. still want to try? for me I will felt like mempermalukan of the bargain (no offensive, just my personal thinking....) Dell stay firm, we can't do nth of Black & White. If the part replacement are still faulty, just report to change again if DOA.

well.... based on my experience of bad service from dell technician..

1stly u can do is ask for damages from dell. tell them not only the bring u an ugly soldering mother board.. and the technician mess ur laptop up..

dont waste them on complaining for a brand new parts... complain about the service the technician has gave u...

that is the only way i reckon...

Any idea where to get the cheapest NC-1000 Zalman cooler? I saw in garage sale someone is selling rm145 but exclude postage, so i might want to get it by myself in lowyat plaza/digital mall.

quite high on gpu...if got nc-1000 may be aim to get <60C.

Added on October 11, 2008, 7:06 pmcancer_kid, I found that your temperature of GPU side quite not reasonable. Only 52C? Last time I use air-cond to test my temperature, my gpu only managed to get 49C...show your setup please, and will more appreciate if you took a picture of it include temperature as well. smile.gif
Also, if you found a review of NC-1000, it can only reduce temperature up to 5C and should be around that hmmm hmm.gif

Speaking of temperature, my nVidia for my XPS M1330 suddenly KO after I plug in the laptop to a plasma tv via HDMI cable.

the visual gone bonkers and I call Dell.
2 days after they sent their engineers to my house and they replace my nVidia for free. under warranty of course.

phew.still considering the zalman cooler. is it much more effiecient than the coolermaster ( i mean the aluminium one)

From the cancer_kid's post, the temperature is quite impossible is just using the NC-1000 cooler, neither nc-2000 can achieve these temps. As can seen from vixxiee, the temps still high on gpu side but temps on hdd and cpu do decreases abit. Don't expect much reduction by just using laptop cooler. Best way is don't put your laptop on place which has air ventilation is blocked.

Yes NC-2000 is bigger and cooler abit. If you leave your laptop like that its called standby lol.
Just sold my M1330, looking for other laptops in future smile.gif.
Thus, I wont experience the night mare of vertical lines.
