QUOTE(ruffoundation @ Nov 20 2008, 03:29 PM) @ruffoundation:You're only partially right. Now it can detect 4gb ram but if you're running on 32bit you can only utilize 3gb. Only with 64bit os you can make use of all 4gb ram. So the only advantage if you're using 2x 2GB RAM is you'll have dual channel speed. |

It's a 32-bit OS limitation in addressing. No matter what, you can't make use of all 4GB... unless you want other components to not work
With 64-bit OS, you can go up to 128GB. This post has been edited by suki: Nov 20 2008, 10:41 PM |

Ok my Dell XPS M1330 has finally succumbed to the dreaded graphics card getting fried problem too, and guess what, it is exactly around 6 months!
Zz had i known about this earlier i might reconsider buying this, right now the technician is here replacing the motherboard, and he said the problem is still probably not fixed yet despite having a newer motherboard. Fortunately i have 2 years of warranty, it's just damn mafan if this happens every 6 months zz, might need to get extra warranty. |
