QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ May 23 2008, 10:22 AM) Is up to you. My cage is like a circus Hihi, thanks a lot for everything you've taught me. Unexpectedly, the little one nibble quite a bit when we reach home. I tried to feed her apple in small bits and she will nibble my finger before taking the apple. So, I start to use only one finger and balance the apple piece to her. The small one sit in the bowl and feast away! Nibble pointing / middle finger ok... if it's last finger or back of the neck... die man. Sometimes the ropes from hardware store may be dirty, who knows how long they have kept it or what kinda glaze or wash was use to preserve the ropes. So when you soak in soapy water, it can get rid of the excess oils and glaze, then it cleans the ropes too. I sometimes add a few drops of Detol to make sure no bacteria is on the ropes. Sunning it dries the wet ropes. This is all precaution only. Anyway, you and your sis will have alot of bonding and handling to do. You must try and not be scared of the nipping and crabbing hahaha.... but don't worry, your girls rarely nip. They just show their dislike by crabbing. Crabble? ahaha.... new kinda sound is it? Is crab or crabbing or crabby, depends on your grammar.... but not crabble. It is normal for gliders to want and hide back in the pouch. And it takes time for them to trust you. Good that they are doing great. Take a picture of them and post here so that we can judge if they should take milk or not. And please don't just give apples everytime. Give other type of fruits like mango, papaya, honeydew, ciku, rambutan.... the list goes on. Anyway, I wouldn't advice people to get a male and a female at once. You know there is a chance of Rachel becoming pregnant too early, resulting in her being stunted in growth, or the joey not 100% healthy. We normally encourage people to get a female first, then wait 2 to 3 months before getting a male. I took precaution with mine, and only introduce a male when my female gliders were past 6 months old. That way, once the male is mature to breed, the female already is strong, healthy and her body can take the burden of having joeys. A few owners here have neutered their males to avoid such breedings. And males that are neutered won't be smelly and stinky, won't be botak and won't musk. I read somewhere, I am not suppose to pull away when she nibble. I've only manage to stand still twice, other times reflex pulls me away. The bigger one sit in the wheel and always wait for me to feed. QUOTE(jtl @ May 23 2008, 10:25 AM) Hahaha... sorry sorry but that look pretty optimal to me. Anyway, my tunnel is under the platform piece like Hun had put it. The sleeping pouch is just by the side. The wodent wheel on upper left and the hammock at the top. A row of bowl and water left of the door.QUOTE(EvanSoon @ May 23 2008, 10:36 AM) just hold her down and slowly wipe.. most of them dun like water.. For me, when I brought home my joeys today. They pooped in the bonding pouch. So I had to take them out and clean them. They are escape artist so I just grab them with the piece of wet baby wipes and simply wipe them and put them in the cage to rest for the day. Will only go look / see at night later.mine i put them on my hand and wipe while they struggle up to my shoulder and onto my back to run away.. or another thing is go to pet shack and buy power brush thingy~ lol.. see guys.. i got learn 1 by being here!~ |

Thank you but babyface joey is super nibbler. Kena attack a few times already.Wanted to run away with your babyface joey just now hehehe... SOOOO ADORABLE.... Now one concern I have... do they know how to use the water bottle? I'm not so sure if they do...? Added on May 23, 2008, 6:49 pm QUOTE(EvanSoon @ May 23 2008, 06:46 PM) woohooo.. pennywise after so long of waiting u finally got them! Yup, I am very happy to bring them home. Will decide a name for them tonight. The bigger one is so friendly but she's crabby. No worries about crabby sounds, I actually like it the kekokekokekokeko sound... But the nibble part by the smaller one is quite painful.gratz gratz.. must be very excited now.. This post has been edited by Pennywise: May 23 2008, 06:49 PM |
