I own a PV80 and bought it end May. Seems like there is a bug/low mtbf part called the air board. Mine kaput few weeks ago. Called pana and they replaced it onsite. Its a known quality issue with the part and the engr said about 10% of the sets may have this problem. No issue with me just disappointed that pana can have such bad QC.

mtbf = mean time before failiure,

He meant that there is a known part that could fail very early/fast.

That is not normal and don't let anybody tell u otherwise. Return it and demand for a new unit.

Btw, make sure you don't have any magnetic source very close to your LCD. Even if your speakers magnetically shielded, try to move everything away and see whether the problem gone. LCD is less prone to magnetic field compare to CRT but no harm to try isolate the problem.

I believe that is backlight bleed and its quite common to see it at the corners of lcd tvs. If you can see it and it bothers you then you should definitely get a replacement.

It depends on whether your TV or your DVD player has the better deinterlacer. Try both and see which picture looks smoother. The difference to look out for are interlaced lines in your picture (alternating scan lines in your picture).

Hi, I'm looking to get an LCD TV either a 32" or 37". Have been reading the posts here and it seems that the Panasonic LX800MK is highly recommended. What are the prices like for the 32" and the 37" now?. Thanks.

Why Display Set ?, does this mean overtime the LCD panels will end up with back lite bleed...

guys, i think i have solved the bleeding problem, all night im trying to figure it out. the factory setting was just too high. contrast at 90 and other setting was at 50. once i increased the brightness to 65 and contrast to about 55, the bleeding gone already. is this the correct way to set it?? or is it normal for the contrast to be at 90??

u didnt fix the problem.. u just made it less obvious.. and beside this is day time.. wait till its night time then u see again.

my brightness on my sony is set at 64-65, i play with backlight if i want the screen brighter as brightness tends to screw up my color gradient. and my contrast is around 80-85 depending on source type..

but but but.. if ur happy with the picture quality and overall color than u should be happy.. go search online for calibration settings for ur tv model. it will make big difference smile.gif
