Hi there,Anyone pls advise me.I'm going to get another 42" but do not know which one should i buy,LCD back or Plasma ? Currently i have Sharp Aquos 37LC53M(100Hz) and my distance view is at 6feet at room.Need to hook up with only PS3 and watch movies as well(DVD,BD) for my new setup. My taste now for Plasma coz i was very impress with Pana TH-42PV8H(400Hz).Does this model power consumption high ? The sales man mentioned to me that all Plasma power consumption are very high compare with LCD,but i read the spec was not really high power consumption, was it true ? And futher more it is 100,000hrs long life but the salesman told that it is almost same lifespan as LCD.
I play game approx 4hrs with my current Sharp LCD,observed now my eyes are tired after play games.Watch dvd and encountered pic not impress as compare to Plasma.

Kindly pls advise.
TQ in advance.

I agree with mikapoh regarding Plasma tv.I had compared again both side by side with Panny plasma and Sharp lcd 42".Panasonic PV80H and Sharp 42LC53M which hookup with Sharp BD player and played disc title Transporter. Both tv's i had tune setup same setting at std configuration.
Upon played both tv's,you can see much different with these two players whereby details, sharpness and rich color are available at Panny and especially at dark scene but not with Sharp.
I'm also looking forward to get Panny Plasma.Hope this will help.

Well, actually I'm quite used to the lag coz I ve been playing games on LCD TV quite long time now. The lag can be reduced by selecting Game Mode or just use PC mode with 100hz set as High.

By the way may i know how you observe the lag can reduce ? Mind to share yr experiences ? I do have Sharp model with 100Hz,played football games encountered lag most at ps3 but not at fps games.

these shop lines up all Pana LCD and Plasma models.i personally saw they line up PV8H,PV80H and PV800H,while use playback source at 1080p,forgot to ask whether use BD player or HDD.the promotion offer if purchase PV800H,BD player sell at 1/2 prices.this promotion ends till 31 Aug 08.

saw at Gurney Plaza also have these promotion from best denki but prices are more expensive than Queensbay Mall.pls take note that Queensbay Mall are not from Best Denki.

hope you'll enjoy to compare upon decission made.

Went to SEC to compare between LG PG20R and Pana PV80H,both pics setting to std configuration and playback BD movies Ice Age 2.Wah,there are both pics different between both of this model and of course LG prices are more cheaper than Pana.Hence provides 2yr warranty and add RM150 for another 3yrs warranty which are total 5yrs warranty.LG are more details to Pana on dark scene which are impress.
As i look at these LG features spec and i was shock about it while compare Pana spec.Hmmm.... but however my fren now had been confuse which one to purchase.

I own a PV80 and bought it end May. Seems like there is a bug/low mtbf part called the air board. Mine kaput few weeks ago. Called pana and they replaced it onsite. Its a known quality issue with the part and the engr said about 10% of the sets may have this problem. No issue with me just disappointed that pana can have such bad QC.

Bro,can explain more details regarding bug/low mtbf part.Don't really understand.
TQ in advance.
