Just wondering Panasonic TX-37LX80M RM3380 is a good price?

A friend of mine bought it lately, saw it and it seem good.
As my parents are thinking of getting one soon to replace the aging CRT TV, what your comment on this model?

Or any better buy around RM3500 mark?

I'm a noob to LCD TV world.

Based on the picture, it is quite obvious the plasma was tweaked for poorer quality. Just look at overbright, and washed colours on the plasma. As usual, old trick to beat other competitors.

I would say that 37S81 aint worth. Reason : Obsolete. Better opt for Panny 37LX80MK.

wow....58 thread of info on price and technical stuffs...will need to go through slowly..

but got some simple questions la....hope sifus here dont mind answer..sorry if soalan bodoh..

i am thinking of getting a flatscreen between 46-50 inch, viewing distance about 12-15ft...
at present, got a 29 CRT...

is it true if i watch ASTRO 90%, then no point getting flat screen? Of course the `feeling classy' factor of flatscreen is wonderful but i am thinking about the quality of the pictures...my question is when watching Astro, is the quality of flatscreen < than CRT?
some shop say must get special cable, some shop say must not buy full HD...

so memang if watch Astro, all flatscreen (no matter what brand/setting/cable) will have LESSER pic quality than CRT?

what about SAME pic quality leh? got hope or not?

hahahaha...trying extra hard to justify possibility of investing into flatscreen...hahah

Added on June 22, 2008, 12:03 amphew...just finished reading the 58 thread...head also pusing pusing..

now i know..if Astro (sports) and DVD...plasma seems okay la..especially the famous Panny plasma PV80...quite a number of people buy here..
but will also check out the samsung...

if got $$...hehehe Pioneer le....
