hope what u said is true.

imo 512Kbps should be set as standard upload speed smile.gif for any broadband provider.
personally i have no confidence base on the words, prefer t&c or b&w written

anyone have link to t&c P1 W1MAX ?

you can always sell of the d-link

we just need more competitor to offer WIMAX, the modem price would come down

You go to their page, then at the bottom of the page, click to Terms and Conditions, there you click P1 WiMAX Terms and Conditions, the first one.

Silly question but I guess still relevant somehow to this thread...how do you pronounce W1Max?
*
It's pronounced Why-Max. 1 = i.

Not sure why'd they went with 1337 (leet) speak but I guess it's because they want to create interest among gamers as well. Anyway, it's pronounced as Wimax. Not.. W-One-Max. tongue.gif

I already confirmed with the 20gb data volume. A high level of P1 said to me, that all users are still given data unlimited for every month. This policy "20gb data limitation" is only apply to the area which having a lot of hardcore users and keep drain their bandwidth so all the users are set to be under 20gb data volume. So, it's depends on the area to be set. The speed will be reduce for 30% of your registered speed. Example you getting 100% of your speed will be cut to be 70% if you're over 20gb data. In the next month, Everything will back to normal.

Yesterday afternoon, I receive a call regarding I get pick as a “P1W1MAX Try User”.
They said that within 3 days I will receive the modem and have a try within 14 days.
Today morning, while I going work and I want to re-conform about the date of receives the modem.
So, I call 1800-800-888 to ask for more information. On the other hand, they said that none of it after 20 August 2008 (After Launch) gets to be try user (No More).
Besides, they said help me conform about the matter.
After all, I’m so disappointed to be inform that their technical error. There is no try you me and for all.
After that, I recall the phone number that contacts me about the test user. The answer is valid.
No idea I get try use or not, my head are very dizzy.

Is a Network Modem, that allow you to share as multiple computer in the same network.
Besides, it also come with 1 adapter that convert 240V 12V to the modem.
Hence, you can go where the place that have coverage but also a plug slot.
It actuary have a network port to plug in to your computer or your switch.
Even can plug into wifi rounter, same as the ADSL or SDSL but just wireless.

I have been call celcom last week, they said that they just implant the 5000Gbit NOT Byte early this month.
Hence, last month you are freedom to download as many as you wish. After you reach 5000Gbit you will get 128kbit/second.
D68 and D98 or D120 also same 5000Gbit and please convert to byte to get acture answer.
Maxis is 3000Gbit not Byte for information if reach 3000Gbit can purchase addition bandwith.

Well, fair usage is the only way to control P2P and allow everyone to use the Internet with pure satisfaction. Can't compare to those countries with high speeds because if you're already downloading super fast then what's considered slow anymore? LOL!

Though disappointing to have a limitation, if their speeds are on par with Streamyx with better promises - I'll still wave bye-bye to Streamyx.

I'd probably go with 1.2Mbps as well. Spoiled by nothing less than 1Mbps. LOL! tongue.gif

The 2.4Mbps is a little out of reach for my personal budget.

Exactly, for the 1.2Mbps. The maximum speed given is under 1.5Mbps. Probably you can reach around 1.3-1.4Mbps if you're lucky. Btw, Now i was using Celcom wireless, and i quite satisfied with the service in term of their speed. I always get full speed that i registered. But 1 thing makes me frustrated is that, the modem they provided is USB modem. You only can online a computer on the same time. I can't plug into my router to share and yet to buy hspda's modem under cable. It just cost too much for it.

P1 is giving free cable modem. That's why i choosing for it

Despite all the hype surrounding W1Max service, I think they would offer ongoing promotions because I felt that the current launch is severely limited (due to the limited coverage areas & the limitation for high rise customers) and the actual demand for the service would remains untapped for a while.

Mobile users would probably be more interested in the USB modem but i think W1max would priced this service slightly higher (when launched) given it's attractiveness in terms of mobility factor. Given that aspect, possibly the current HSDPA services offered by the mobile telcos will still remain attractive.

I'm rather against the RM100 installation fees as I think it's being made to partly pay the channel partners (read W1Max agents) to market the product. Don't you realize that's why you are asked to pay an upfront of RM100 when you register and the rest will be charged to the bill ? The money can be used to pay off at least 1 month subscription.

And what about the lack of information on the T&C and plenty of other information? That can be scary and it appears that W1max did not put this into much thought prior to the service launch.

Try this - call the CS and ask
- Can you change your current modem to the USB modem?
- When will be be launched ?
- Would I be charged for the conversion and how much ?

You'll find some of the answers to be very vague. Come on P1, customers are much more sophisticated nowadays ! If you want to treat them like a small child - you'll find that eventually people will just walk out on you.

Just my 2 cents.
