Does it disconnect everytime the speed switches? My USB modem kinda disconnect itself everytime speed changes from HSDPA -> UMTS -> EDGE or vice versa. Its so frustrating especially when you are in a place that has bad reception.

All of their packages are contractless , its just that you'll have to pay RM 200 handling fees when you wish to terminate it. Thats Maxis' definition of contractless

Just read this t.o.s

http://maxis.com.my/personal/broadband/termncon.asp

5.3 Excessive Usage

5.3.1 Each customer’s total usage per month shall NOT exceed 3GB of data volume transmitted (total upload and download usage). This is to ensure that no individual hogs the bandwidth at all times.
5.3.2 If a customer wishes to use more than the volume permitted, a written request should be made to Maxis.
5.3.3 Maxis reserves the right to reject the said application or charge for any additional data volume transmitted from what is already allocated.

I hate the limited bandwidth >_>

I use 3.5GB. And that 3GB rule doesn't makes sense... If you reach full speed you don't need to use liao ;_;

I like to download albums instead of one by one song. So if you don't have data flow, some programs like mIRC or MSN won't work ;_; Downloads will stop too >:

I hate the blue lights.

But other wise, the morning speed are quite good. Start from.. 5am to 12 noon is fine. Download speed reached 100kbps. Normally download speed on Safari is 10-20kbps. But, not good enough for a 3.5GB connection, eh?

On 7:49pm, uploading a 70MB file though. Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.

I'm quite freaking pissed at the 3GB rule, although I didn't pay my bills. o.o

EDIT:

No, still no good. o.o

Don't worry about it. MaxisBB System (and their modem) is not reporting our bandwidth usage accurately. I've used over X9GB the last month but they stated I used only 8.64GB...also, the dl speed I'm getting is higher than what I subscribed for nod.gif

Also, if you call CS, they will tell you that they actually limit 20GB and not 3GB. If Maxis tries to make extra charges, contact MCMC and let 'em slap Maxis to the ground brows.gif

FYI: Everytime I get slow downloads, I'll call CS and ask them to reset the connection (BTW, tell the CS to skip the technical crap...tell them you just want them to reset your connection). After 15 minutes, full dl speed again icon_rolleyes.gif - On average, I only call CS once or twice a week asking them to reset my connection.

They don't really care. They'll just entertain , try to fix. If you really want to get things done , bring it to MCMC and then forward to Maxis. They'll solve your problem (hopefully)
