The ping is too high.... as usual

Hmmm.... Singapore server... not bad. I've pinged to local server and my 3.6mbps package always gimme less than half the advertised speed.

Hi there guys,

I got hold of the Maxis Broadband USB Modem package today. Was using it for while and realise there is a problem. Just wondering whether it is caused by the modem itself.

When using the broadband for a while, possibly around 10 - 30minutes time, a error message will appear stating some king of "Generic Host for Win32.exe" Error. After that, i will not be able to connect back again unless i restart my PC.

Tried this on another laptop and same effect. Anyone has the same error and is it caused by the modem itself?

mine always disconnected after 10 minutes of usage....so i hv to reconnect it back....any idea of this? I'm subscribe the 3.6Mbps. If it still occrs, then I might return the modem back to maxis.

Dc when using or idle ?? if u left it idle u can use firefox + addon Reload Every to refresh/reload the browser windows with the time u wan .so u will no get dc always

Thats considered to be very good , 2.7Mbps out of 3.6Mbps. Keep it up , you're getting good speds !

Pretty good for a crappy ISP.

Download speed: wow, I've definately gotta steal your connection
Upload speed: at par with dial-ups. Pretty much a standard for majority of Maxis bb users
Ping: very high... as usual.

is it normal that i can only surf,browse download internet when HSDPA mode,but cannot when change to UTMS?

to make things worse , my connection become crap when it changes to HSDPA ..

planning to change to rm78 per mth zte maxis broadband.. any comments on this bb? can use for gaming?? cause my stupid streamyx keep disconnecting since last year i complain to telekom so many times but nth happen.. still the same.. maxis easy disconnect while playing game? avid on9 gamer here

Ping time so high...is no good for gaming

haiz means i no other bb to use already.. streamyx giving me prob for past few months and its getting worse (not better)

some online games got problem...ping time to high, ZTE moderm cannot port forward .
i do play online CS and CZ...the closer server i can get ping time is 125ms while streamxy can get 45ms

and surfing net so hard ...morning until evening is ok but at night time...s*ck
u can appy from maxis and test use in 7 days time...if no ok the send back to maxis

Yup...maxis bb S**K!...morning till evening connection fast...nite connection very slow...only god knows...btw...i live at level 12...but when i try at my fren house in putrajaya still connection slow...haiz...

WRONG , it has nothing to do with the modem. Its maxis that is blocking the ports , if you use the USB Modem , you'll notice that even if you turn off your firewall , the ports are still blocked !

until they ask u to call one of the technician in charge of your area.

i already used for 7month can i terminate it without paying anything?dont like it anymore..damm super slow...
