Be the pioneer to experience PG Hill tram if you are lucky that time is open for public :-)
Don't know what the effects of a faster and more modern train will be.

Older trains, maybe a bit of nostalgia but you know larr, Malaysian maintainence culture, what more if something is a relic, an antique. Totally noob on the heritage aspect. Faster trains means more people can be transported up and it also means the conditions will get worse up on the peak if it is not bad enough. Maybe on holidays it will get so crowded that tourist will be rolling down to Air Itam and into the dam , LOL
I remember taking the old train where those who are seated on the first half will definately not get a seat on the second half.

Then the slow motion speed of the train and the faceless expression of the passengers looking at each other, nothing else to so mah! It will be good for those staying on the hill though. A lot of vege farms on the slopes.
PS/just a thought

I saw a mechanic once servicing an antique Morris. The air filter was clogged and the engines can't rev. up. He took out the air filter which is really antique. Inside it was wool like those steel wool we use to clean our woks. Instead of immersing the filter in diesel or degreaser to clean the wool, he pulled everything out and threw it away. There's no way you can get another replacement, what a waste!

He didn't even put anything into it as replacement. That's how our local techs and mechanics work!
