Warranty will of course be easier because it's Singapore and if there is a problem, it's just a 4-5 hour drive, right? Wrong, unfortunately. First of all, unlocking/jailbreaking voids the warranty. Secondly, if it's anything like the US, which I'm sure it will be, they will only repair your phone if you have an active contract, which you won't because you're unlocking it.

*
Oppss...so that means eventhough we buy at US,but we are alrdy unlock it,the warranty are void too, rite?
So all unlock IPhone sold at LYN or outisde also no more warranty rite?becoz it is unlock alrdy.
So if have any problem with the unlocking iphone we need to solve us self,Apple are no resposible to help us solve the problem under warranty, rite?
THX~

actually, even if u have unlock the iPhone, u can turn it into locked state again so u can send for warranty.
btw, warranty is partially covered by Apple and AT&T (mmm...dunno how much time i've wrote this already), so in order to be eligible for warranty, u need to subscribe with AT&T plan.
ok simply put, unlocked iPhone > voiding warranty, but u can lock it back if wanna send for warranty. but u need to subscribe with AT&T.

I'm not getting 3G iPhone is because of the 3G usage in the country that is not widely use and for me I seldom use video call/chat and not all of my friends are on 3G and video call/chat instead of voice call/standard calling and the video quality is just plain crap. Squarish pictures and you can't even talk clearly instead you just see my face and the other way around. Battery life is also important as I don't want to charge my phone every 2-3 days of usage, luckily my iPhone last around 1 week plus of battery life (light usage of calls/light usage of texting/medium usage of iPod).

What I want for the 2.0 firmware update in June is that Apple will release a new firmware for the first-gen iPhone on what it has been missing.

-MMS application
-Copy/paste function
-Better performance on the phone/better call quality (some said that 1.1.4 have boosted their call quality)
-Touch FX application for free (If you watch iPhone SDK Event keynote, you'll know)

Added on April 18, 2008, 11:52 pmI wonder why iPhone does not have 'delivery report' notice. tongue.gif

Hmm...Thank you to have really given much thought to the matter.
So it is very trouble if need to claim the warranty...need to locked it back...shipping...and fees to subscribe AT&T plan...then send back shipping fees.
OMG...this is only the trouble risk for buying iphone. So the buyer hope so it is no any rosak or what after buy it.
But if after warranty the case, screen, hardware or software inside got problem it will be more n more trouble.
haizz...wanna buy it but so many trouble if really got problem. smile.gif

Go to: http://www.ziphone.org/

It's the best way to unlock/activate/jailbreak iPhone with 1.1.4 firmware OTB, for Mac & Windows.

When your usage mentions that you have just used it for 3 hours,

doesnt mean that your phone actually last only for 3 hours.

usage starts to count only when you start running an app, and stops when you stop running it,

and continues when you run an app again.

-------

can you say out in more detail on how weak your battery life is?

-------

um you see, since you re using bosspref, you should be able to configure both your ssh & bluetooth.
*
oh no. usage of 3hr doesn not mean it last for 3hrs only. keke..
well, i still can't tell u how weak it is coz i have been transfering mp3 and photo now and then, so i m charging it every day. keke.. but there was once that it lasted 1.5 days, not even manage to wait i reach home on the 2nd day after work. haha....
yeah, i already use bosspref to off everything.

Added on April 19, 2008, 11:43 ammaybe a newbie question. keke... but i told my frenz who is interested that iphone can only connect to the internet via EDGE. how about GPRS? coz he is using unlimited GPRS on 012. he might want to get one if can use with GPRS, which i told him can't. keke.... just want to make sure i have the correct info for him.

mmm...on maxis, unlimited data plan means unlimited GPRS + EDGE + 3G. and iPhone supports GPRS and EDGE, depends on availability of EDGE at the area.

Use iTunes for videos and songs.

Safari memang cannot support flash.

i was asking one of the phone shops in digital mall PJ this evening and the guy quoted me RM1900 for 8gb (discounted price!). Very good price for you Sir, he said (haha). I asked him if he has locked iPhone instead. He say yeah, and its about RM1.6k (woot!)....Here comes the funnier part. He told me that to unlock the phone, you'll need a software which gonna cost RM300-400 to purchase..i almost ROFL but managed to remain composed thru out the conversation. He even tried the usual phone shops scare-tactic, "What if you can't unlock later and rosak? Habis la?" LOL! =.="

Anyway, i wanna know if any of you guys are using Bluetooth stereo headset with the iPhone? I was considering the Nokia one or itech's Blueband R. Don't know if they're compatible. But one thing for sure i won't be able to use the audio control buttons since the iPhone is not A2DP-ready.

If I'm you I'll scold back that fella. Telling him consumers are not stupid nowadays to fall on such trick.
