I do not wish to update but is there a way I can get rid of the update so that it will not forever show up on the update list icon ?

well u got to becarefull... i do off egde everytime after surfing net from wifi.. i did notice, after turning off wifi, the edge will on itself and credit got - from it. wat i always do is, after turning off wifi, i will turn off edge to make sure it's safe! cause once i did was after using wifi, i turn it off and go out shopping. when i wanna make calls. credit left Rm5, LMAO!

Many ways to do those things...

But the most easiest and standard way is using iTunes.
Just plug the phone to your pc.
Open iTunes - then auto detect ur iPhone
Click on iphone at the sidebar menu.
Got a few tabs Music, Ringtone, Contacts, Pictures and etc.
Go to contacts, choose what format you want to save ur contact as (ithink i choose MS contacts)
Then just click sync .. (pictures also similiar) your contacts will be saved in a folder in ur PC

Other advance methods
Contacts - can use isms - can copy ur contacts from your sim card
Pictures - can use flickr or pushr to upload ur pics in to your online storage for public sharing
