The only reason people don't want BL 3.9 is because they cannot upgrade back to BL 4. This will only create a problem when Apple decide to catch this type of user. Looking for 1.1.4 upgrade it seem they more left alone people with hacked phone. The new unlock found just in a few days and they don't even bother to fix the hole in 1.1.3 firmware.

The better part is, with BL 3.9 you can get unlock latest baseband earlier. Also I found out by using firmware with match baseband is more stable. I try 1.1.3 with baseband 4.02 the WIFI and youtube is not working. I think need to do something, like copy correct cert or something la..

For now, just stop worrying with BL and enjoy your phone. If they coming out with new firmware there must be somebody out there will find a way to allow you to install the new one.. If not, just enjoy ur phone as it is. It already great phone.

Even dev team now working with custom firmware which allow you to upgrade the Iphone with built in activation + unlock. If the can modify the firmware like that, future one should be possible also.

All this type of location based software depends on their database... They need someone tell them, this cell tower is located here. I think the coverage here still not so good. If locate me cannot detect ur location it just mean your place still not in their database.. This is not like GPS where it working anyway in the worlds that have open sky.

Not remotely.. Just when you install the new firmware.. So be patient when the update arrive.. Give those hacker to play with it first. After they found a exploit than it will be safe to upgrade.

There 2 of my cust unable to send sms. Actually the problem with the SMS center.. Some how the smsc cannot be read/save.. Some time after setting it ok, but along the road the prob will re-occur.

You need a server such as nntp.jaring.my. But that one limited one.. Commercial NNTP will allowed you to access any group which usually related to warez..

Maps is auto download from google server a.. It basically google earth application in Iphone. No GPS just maps.

you will need access to the internet to use locate me.. Be sure you got unlimited data plan or else you will get huge bill.

For now bluetooth in Iphone is just for handsfree. The article make their own conclusion that Iphone got bluetooth so it can connect to other bluetooth device. You need serial profile to connect to BT GPS receiver and Iphone don't have that profile (for time being), maybe in the future.

There is GPS receiver that use WIFI to connect to the Iphone.. That also will only available after Jun when 3rd party app out.

Go to Run ->gpedit.msc
User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Explorer
Enable and then Disable "Removes Folder Options menu from Tools menu"
Close all windows explorer windows and then open again.. most probably your folder options is back

1.1.3 cannot change password 1.1.4 dunno a.. Coz 1.1.3 got warning when u install bsd subsystem.. Never try to change it since got warning there.. Just turning off ssh when u don't need it..

That's what I heard many time.. But for me you need to know more about the thing you get into. Especially like Iphone where it a 'hack thing'. Not officially ready to be use here.

If my customer ask whether to choose the Iphone or not, I will said it not regular phone. It a computer where you need to format it now and then. It better to tell then like that than receiving their call every 2-3 days..

There is 2 problem here actually which make it worse.. 1st Iphone is designed with unlimited data plan which make it reach whatever connection there is.. Either WIFI or Edge.

2nd, The celcom sim or network, dunno which 1 allow you to connect to Egde/gprs without any setting. Not only in Iphone. My W800 also can connect without any setting.

Those 2 combination make the worse of this problem. I believe the seller will told you if he/she know about this. I did told my customer, even install them BossPrefs to disable the edge. Dummy APN will not disable GPRS/EDGE access for celcom. But only after the customer complain and a little investigation.

That's what I mean about 'hack thing'. The seller just bring in the stuff, they don't receive any more documentation/technical details from Apple than you did. Anyway, that the thing about 'hacked thing', you can use cool stuff 1st ahead than others. Anyway enjoy ur phone..
